I'm getting a Pelican Case with the solid foam. I wanted to find out does anyone around murfreesboro Cut foam or have a set up I can use.

I'm going to do a custom job for my M10, LE6933, and 2 cans.

Thanks

The contents of that case are probably worth more than all of my possessions combined. ;)

I've always used a disposable razor knife like you use to cut wall paper and a very sharp pair of scissors.

An electric knife works well on foam. Not so much with the detail work. What you need is a miniature electric knife. I'll get to work on that.

In the mean time, if the foam is layered and you're cutting a shape all the way through the layer, an electric knife works well. A little silicone spray from the auto department of WalMart will help as a lube if you're really cutting a lot. If it's not layered foam, you can make a layer as thick as the item you're cutting it for by slicing a foam layer with the electric knife. Like slicing off a slice of bread. Once you cut out the shapes, use a spray adhesive to glue the layers back together if desired.

I've done this a number of times making packing cases for electronic equipment.

My pelican 2150 came with three layers of solid foam. You only cut the middle layer. I traced a template of my weapons with a colored pencil and then cut with an X-acto knife with a longer blade. It took 45 minutes or so to cut for all three weapons, accessories and mags, but it turned out well.

I wouldn't use an electric knife unless you are really skilled or prepared to mess up the foam in the blink of an eye. Take your time and you will do fine.
