Anybody have Boost Mobil?

Been thinking about dropping Verizon for a more reasonably priced plan.

As far as value goes,it seems Boost is the best with their unlimited everything plan for 50 bucks. That's allot cheaper then I pay now for just talk time!

The main draw back to Boost though is their lack of nicer phones.

Looks like they only have a few,and none PDA-smart phone types :drama:

I had it for awhile. Hated it. The coverage was ok..spoty in rural areas, good in cities. What REALLY drove me nuts was the whole ghetto brand identity. Everything was all "Yo yo, what's up? Your balance is low..top off to keep chllin.." That Attitude/identity/marketing ran through all their written/web/ext material. At least that's the way it was a year ago.

Check out Walmart's new pre-paid. I'm thinking of dumping Verizon for them myself.

for a disposable it's ok, but if it's your main you get what you pay for, and if you are that person that has to have a certain phone , its not for you. t-mobile is 30 bucks more. unlimited everything. but no walkie-talkie

+1 for T-Mobile, I have been with them for over 7 years now and pay less than $75.00 each on 2 lines with unlimited everything, I love it

Doing fine here, seem's to have same coverage as verizon in most area's.

Bill is $54.63 per month after Tenn. get's there cut.

You can use any iden phone from Nextel with them, i'm using a Blackberry 8350i curve with it after minor software mods everything but blackberry messenger works on it.

I just ignore all the ghetto advertisement crap even tho i hear they are getting rid of it all. All the recent ad's where alot more grown up.

No first-hand experience, but a friend who tried them only lasted 2 months.

His main complaints:

-Accessing the Internet sucks.

-Customer Service was often difficult to reach, and were nearly worthless when you could. He said it would often take upwards of 30 minutes to get someone on the phone. Listening to their broken English was a bigger pain that the crappy service, he said.

-Service was not very good in rural areas.

-Text messages would often be very slow or never get delivered.

-And like someone else mentioned, he quickly got sick of all the ghettoness, like their phones were marketed for 15-year-olds.

Really it depends on what phone your going to use.

I do not recommend one of their phones, i would get the starter kit with their sim and put it in a Nextel phone you will be much happier since it is just a prepaid nextel then.

My wife use's a I880 which for nextel motorola's is a very top of the line phone, very good camera and i put gmail and opera programs on it and surfs the web good, even has a turn by turn gps navagation on it now.

Where as my phone is the 8350i Blackberry Curve, loaded to the ****! This thing rival's the other 8300 series curve's on other networks. I can do just about everything, GPS mapping and Garmin spoken turn by turn, Full blown Opera browser, multiple radio streaming programs. Built in Wifi and much much more. With a special set of service books loaded you don't even need the monthly $40 BES/BIS service required on other networks.

All for $54 a month unlimited.

The text messaging is flawed sometimes to Verizon and back but comes thru great and perfect on the others. The only other flaw is a IDEN flaw and not a Boost one, you can only do one thing at a time on a IDEN network so if your on the phone text is delayed, if your sending text then the phone wont ring, if your surfing the net downloading a very big file then calls wont come thru and so on. I don't run into it and i burn the net up on mine but the wife has text's come in late since she wont get off the damn phone during the day. She burnt me up on our Verizon we had always going over the mins.
