the 357 sig is my all time fav. I love it in my g31c and my CC g33 both are easy shooters. with a round like this its going to have some recoil to it but Iv got a s&w 38sp airlite and it has more recoil than the g33

Walmart usually does though. During teh ammo drought it seemed sometimes to be the only ones on the shelf.

It is high... originally I paid $11 and $13 a box in 2000, now it runs pretty much the same price as .45 acp. I had always hoped it would catch on more with government and police agencies, with carbines being chambered for it as well. So ammo prices might fall or stay reasonable. (No such luck.)

Good thing is used .357 sigs seem to bring lower prices if your wanting to grab a used one. Wait... I mean "pre-enjoyed". :screwy:

in my experience, recoil is the same or maybe just a touch under .45acp.

accuracy is very good in my experience, on par with the other service calibers.

glock, XD, M&P, SIG, H&K all make guns chambered in this.

.357sig is basically a 9mm magnum. it is a highly penetrable bullet.

That's the general consensus from upper level law enforcement as well. I spent the weekend recently with my uncle, who is a 25+ year veteran of the Secret Service in Washington, D.C. Currently they are issued Sig Sauers in .357 Sig. Having been issued revolvers when he joined the force, and gone through now every platform, make, model and caliber out there, he's very satisfied with this current choice; and yes, unfortunately he does have first-hand knowledge of its capability.

Primary carry is a Glock 31 90% of the time. The .357 SIG approaches the ballistics of a .357 magnum, it doesn't quite reach it they say, but I doubt anything shot with it would notice the difference.

My 31 is exceptionally accurate for me. The round shoots flat, not a 10mm, but it seems a little flatter on the 225 yard gong I bang (at!).

Recoil in the G31 is very close to a 9mm +p in my opinion. I wouldn't equate it with the push of a .45 acp at all. I also shoot Glocks in 9mm, 10mm, and .45, so I can definitely compare the recoil across the Glock line.

One thing I love about the Glocks is the availability of a drop in barrel to convert to .40 S&W. The mags are the same, except for the stamped caliber. I also have just a couple of holsters and I can use them with any of my Glocks because of the common frame. An open bottom design like a belt slide will work with a G17 size standard Glock, a subcompact G26, or the target length G34.

Practice ammo is easily found at WallyMart. As someone else mentioned, I've been able to find .357 SIG and even 10mm much easier than 9mm, .45, and .357 magnum. I am very judicious with sd ammo however, can't find it an any caliber right now.
