Ithaca Model 37 dissasembly?

My father just gave me his Ithaca Model 37 20 Guage shotgun. My problem is that I can't find any documentation on how to break it down to clean it. I know the barrel must come off somehow but don't want to scratch it up by using wrenches and stuff. I know there have been a ton of these manufactured so I don't know the exact age, but I do know that it was originally my grandfather's gun. Anyone know how to break one down or know where I can find a manual?

I also found this. Not sure if it will help, but may be worth a shot.

to remove the baarrel:

Unload the magazine and chamber

pull back on slide release,on forward side of trigger guard, and pull slide handle assembly,to rear,to open breach

Pull up magazine nut pin,and use it as a lever to rotate magazine nut, until projection on it is free of barrel lug(magazine nut pin is only on guns made before 1955

Barrel is joined to receiver with an interrupted thread

When magazine nut is free of barrel lug, give barrel a 1/4 turn, counterclockwise, and pull free of receiver

Magazine tube and slide handle assembly remain attached to receivver

NOTE

the magazine nut is the round part on the end of the magazine

the slie handle assembly is the wooden operating handle

I've been disassembling and cleaning an M37 for over 25 years and have no idea what a magazine nut pin is. Guess mine were made after 1955.

I think they are refering to the push pin on the magazine nut (retainer) I dont what year they quit using this. I do know the eary guns do have this. a built in mechanical assist to turn the nut.
