Anybody know anything about this rifle? I know it is older, 1940-1965?, but would it be worth buying? if so, what would be a decent price? Thanks

you can read up on them on remington's site or on wikipedia, google will pop them right up. rem. made 100s of 1000s of them. I have shot 1 many times. it's a fine rifle, but nothing really special, no huge collector value or anything.

The 512 is a fine .22 rifle. It is a tube fed bolt action rifle. The 511 is basically the same rifle with a detachable magazine rather than the tube. All of the 500 Series rifles have a following in rimfire circles. Price obviously depends on condition. A really clean on would usually go for $150 or more. If you're looking for a well made, reliable .22 rifle, a 512 is a great choice.
