What Kind of Smoker?

Well I didn't get any pictures from thanksgiving, but I cooked a pork loin marinated in Spicy Brown Mustard and Tequila and stuffed with apples. I was too busy eating it to take a pic, will try to get one next time I smoke something.

i use my weber charcoal grill as a smoker just place the water on one side and the coal on the other, and use the indirect method of cooking, charcoal gives more flavor i think ,but to really help you, we need to know what you plan on cooking, regularly, whole turkeys, ribs, loins, what?/?/ if you do more grilling than smoking i would get a Weber charcoal grill and use it for both. not really a big need to have something that your not gonna use but a few times a year....but then again if you like to see your money rusting and gaining dust on the porch that's your thing....but what ever you get there will be a learning curve, I love my Weber grill. BigTurkey.gifthis is a pic of a weber with a smokanator acc.

That's another reason I give the nod to an Egg. It will do anything you want to do with it.

I still love my Weber, and if you Google the top ten charcoal grills, and do a different search on the top ten smokers, you will find a weber...on both the egg on just the grill under the Weber, i don't know how they ranked them by sales or use or costumer comments, but I thumbed my nose at them thinking they were just cheap grills, and finally broke down and bought one last summer, and i tell you from my experience with one has changed my mind, and now i prefer to use it over my high dollar gas grill when i want taste, as for speed, gas is king. But I would do what your doing and ask from those that have and love their own , grills/smokers.

The only thing my gas grill does anymore is store "Eggcessories"...lol. As far as speed goes, I can light the lump charcoal in the egg with a weed burner, and be ready to cook in a matter of minutes. The weber is a good piece too. Just say no to propane....lol.

You might be a redneck if you use your wifes flower pot for a smoker.J/K this is a great idea and the turkey looks good as well.
