Hello to all. And, we tried to order from Sportmans Guide knives for our grandson's Christmas presents to be engraved. SG said that TN is now restricted from any knives with blades longer than 4" shipped in from out of state. Law went into effect about 4 months ago. Anyone know about this? I think it includes some guns as well. We need to do something about this!

Welcome!

not sure about that state law.. I just "test" ordered a 6" knife on Cabelas.com and there was no notice they wouldn't ship it to me in TN.

Was the blade 6" or the entire knife?

I've never heard of that law, I call BS. Y'all put on a pretty good Independence Day fireworks show in the Furnace, been a couple of years since I went there to watch though.

Hello back to all - I contacted Senator Doug Jackson, he tells me there is a very old law on the books that prohibits a person from possessing a knife with the intent to go armed with a blade over 6" long. However, that does not pertain to hunting knives, and there is no law that limits skinning knives to be shipped to TN. I have contacted SportmansGuide, sent the emails that Senator Jackson sent to me and still waiting to hear back. Lets do something about them using a law that does not pertain to hunting to prohibit shipping of hunting knives. GEEZZZZ

Hello, I'm a new member myself. I've ordered lot's of ammo from Sportsman's Guide. They do seem to have a funny way of looking at Tn. laws. They wouldn't ship black powder guns to me; but Cabelas said it was perfectly legal and had no problam.
