The Wife, the kid, and I are planning on coming up to Nashville this Friday and stay until Sunday. Last time we came up, we stayed at the Doubletree on Atrium Way, near the Airport , (thanks for the hook-up Charles). We liked the area, as it was close to everything we wanted to do, and were going to stay there again, but before booking with them again, I did a little searching.

2.8 miles down the road is Country Inn and Suites at 590 Donelson Pike. Looks nice from the pictures, and is $26 cheaper a night, so my question is.......being that much closer to the airport will the planes be disturbing us during the night?

When we stayed at the Doubletree we don't remember hearing one plane.

Have any of you Nashville guys heard horror stories about the Country Inn on Donelson Pike?

The Nashville airport is not very busy at night. Donelson Pike is not directly under a flight path. There are two runways that run parallel to it so even if there are a few planes I really don't think that they will bother you.

You should take a trip up to Greenbrier and see the guys at Guns and Leather!

Stayed at a Country Inn and Suites in Ft Myers, FLA a couple years back...nice clean rooms....good bang for the buck. As for Donnelson...it should be relatively quiet...you'll probably hear more road noise than airplanes...its close to I-40

That area can be kind of sketchy if you actually have to go out at night, but then you live in Memphis, so I guess you're okay with that. :)

We recently had some people come into town for business and stay at the place listed below, they were pretty pleased, and it was pretty cheap for a single room with two double beds

I live in the area and we don't let people visiting stay at that particular one. I get the impression it's a little rough around there sometimes. Though I don't have any hard evidence other than the way it looks during the night hours.

I think there is a brand new, really, really, nice Country Inn and Suites in Mount Juliet. It's 10 minutes from the air port and I think worth it. The area all around the hotel has tons of shopping, movie theater, and a Target just in case you need to buy something you forgot.

I've had a friend stay at both and she prefers driving the extra 10 minutes to go to the Mount Juliet one.

I used to work right next door to the one in Mt. Juliet and I must say that I agree. The staff is very friendly (they'd have lunch at my restaurant sometimes) and the area is safe and very quiet. You're only 10 mi from Donelson Pk, and it might actually have a cheaper room rate because you're a little farther from the airport.
