EER Scope

Hey all,

I've got a Mosin Nagant that does pretty well with point of vitals at 100 yards and open sights. I'm thinking about getting an EER scope because I have the rear sight scope mount.

The trouble is I only have about $100 to spend. I see some cheap scopes and I know you get what you pay for. I'm not looking to shoot 1" sub groups at 300 yards, but I would like to reach out and try to touch a deer at 150-200.

Has anyone had any experience with some of the lower end scopes such as NCStar, etc.?

If you had only $100 to spend on an extended eye relief scope, would you bother getting one for a year or two, or would you just wait and keep shooting open sights.

dont get an ncstar....they have no durability. I got a pretty decent Centerpoint scope at wal-mart thats rated up to a 416 Rigby for only $60 and it came with rings and batteries plus a lifetime warranty. Its what I put on my Mosin.

You can check out some of the muzzle loader or shotgun scopes. They are not true EER scopes but some offer 4 or 5 inches of eye relief. Not sure if that is enough on the Mosin though.

I don't recommend the NCStar. I would get a Tasco or Bushnell first. Maybe a used scope off ebay.
