Want to say that reloading my own ammo and not searching all over just to find empty shelves or over priced ammo is the :hyper:. I cranked out (my 1st time ever loading handgun ammo) 400 rds. of .45 acp 230 gr. on XL 650 / shot 150 rds. Sunday without any problems. Shot rds. through 4 different models of .45 pistols, thanks for the extra pistols davidD. I'm a reloader hooked for life.

this is a hobby you will not only enjoy but will continue to save money. I can load for 1/2 of what I could buy off the shelf, if I could find it on a shelf! Keep your PD loads for just that, throw reloads downrange. Check out Missouri Bullet for great lead bullet prices.

I load .45s also. I've loaded powerbond and berry's 230gr plated with 4.1grs of titegroup. Both work pretty well. Don't like shooting led because it's too much to clean. If you can get them Precision Delta is cheaper and are FMJ not plated but you will have to wait for them.

Congrats on the reloading, SkunkSlayer! I currently reload 9mm, 38 specials, 40 S&W, and 45 acp. I use Winchester 231 powder on all pistol loads. My setup is the Dillon 550B. I have the dies & conversion for the 223 Remington, but I probably won't have time to learn reloading rifle rounds until early next year, mainly because my reloading mentor is getting a Ruger SR-556 for for Christmas! I love reloading -- it's therapeutic, and I love reloading to my favorite music. I have also heard of folks putting in their new "book on tape" and reloading to it. I have bought many bullets from Montana Gold Bullet Co. -- please check them out: Montana Gold Bullet, Incorporated - Kalispell, Montana I have saved much $$ in ammo since I've started reloading. I also have numerous family members who want AND utilize my services! Reloading is the next "level of enlightenment" :koolaid: for the person who loves guns! I like having different calibers of guns just so I can learn new reloads! Hey ftncity fatboy -- I'll let you shoot my 357 SIG next time I see you at CCA! Take care, SkunkSlayer!

TNT,

I have a box of 500 .45 Zero's on the bench now. They are less expensive, did you buy on line? If so how long did it take to get shipped to you? SS

Still kickin round the idea of reloading, but my space here at home is limmited...no garage.

Do it.

A small space is just fine. I mounted most of my equipment to 2X4s and then just move them around my bench or inside infront of the tv with clamps.

A larger bench seems to collect other things from other projects. Mine is covered in white pine right now.

TNT,

Thats where I get my bullets also in MJ , a little higher than on line but I can have them in my hand and be home reloading in 15 mins. I read on TGO that the wait from Zero was not as long as they post on line, I might give them a try just to see if it's 6 + weeks wait time. SS

My benches/carts are 28" high with casters, 25" wide and 13" deep. Welded light duty 1 1/4" angle iron frame, with a shelf about 10" below top. Shelves are 3/4" plywood, top is 2 layers of 3/4" plywood. A cabinet, with lock takes up about half of the bottom section. With a shelf in center, to store powder, primers and small things. And a shelf on the side. Press and powder measurer are mounted on top. I hide it in a closet and roll it all over the house to reload where I like.
