Ok, I have had an idea I am playing with. A pic rail mounted set of gyros with a 2D joystick to modulate the gyros accomplishing stabilization in both the X and Y dimensions. I think it can be done. I work with these kinds of things.

It would allow you to just hold onto the gun, and use the joystick to aim, and a G force sensor to measure and compensate for muzzle rise my modulating the gyros in real time.

Anyway, while searching for prior art ( and hints ), I ran across this thread on the high road which is hilarious. You must read. I love the real mouse gun idea.

cheers.

Gyro stabilized camera lens hve beenaround and working well for years. No time like now to step it up to the next level! Could it be kept small enough to be "user friendly"? Fun project to play with anyway.

They mentioned the 8 bore rifle like it was the biggest thing out there... I know Ken Owens and he builds the 4 bore rifle... that's 4 bullets from 1lb of lead, or roughly 1850-2000gr bullets...
