From my understanding, Boiled Linseed Oil is what they used for the WWII ones, so that's what I used.

I started off with rubbing it down with a single coat of mineral spirits, wiping the excess, and letting it dry. Then I did about 8 coats of half mineral spirits/half boiled linseed oil - applying a coat, letting it sit for 15 minutes, wiping the excess, and then letting it dry for a few hours before the next coat.

To finish off, I applied 3 coats of Tom's 1/3 Mix.

I'm pretty happy with it, even if I did almost break that brittle rear hand guard in the process.

BTW, that is called leet speak (as in Elite or L33T), which is where you'll see many words such as pwn, noob, l33t, and pr0n (etc.). This is the interwebs, start getting used to it now. :D
