GREAT VIDEO.

I am debating on using it as a "bell ringer" (something I open my classes with) in high school Algebra classes.

I really like it, but the "under god" issue is something that will easily slurp 10 minutes or more of teaching time and I'm expected to teach math instead of civics. They don't have a problem with me tackling such issues so long as it doesn't interfere with me getting them where they need to be in the math.

I can manage this debate and I have good kids who are mature enough to discuss it respectfully in class (with one or two exceptions who I can clamp down upon and prevent from stirring the pot for simple desire to create drama.)

Thanks for giving me a great challange. I'll find a way to present this in my classes and still get the math done.

He was one great American!

I was lucky enought to get his autograph back in the late 70's at the Civic Auditorium. I still have it.

One of my favorites quotes:

"I personally believe we were put here to build and not to destroy. So if by chance some day you're not feeling well and you should remember some silly little thing I've said or done and it brings back a smile to your face or a chuckle to your heart - then my purpose as your clown has been fulfilled. Goodnight and may God bless."

Thank you for sharing that. Red Skelton is one of my favorite entertainers of all time. I was a kid when I watched him but would not miss him for anything. It is a real shame that people don't respect our God, Country and Flag.
