Fusion Firearms?

Anybody have any experience with guns from Fusion? Fusion Firearms

Looking for opinions on quality, accuracy, reliability, turnaround, worth the price, etc...

Thinking of having a beautiful frankenstein commander bobtail with a rail in 9mm put together for me after the holidays, looking for this weird recipe has led me to them (think they might be the only people who make such a thing)...

If anyone knows of anyone else who does something like this please let me know as well.

Here's kinda what I'm going for, except I'm thinking diamond-black ion bond and different grips:

You are welcome, I heard they are expensive if you get a quote from them I would also get one from Nighthawk Custom. Im not sure which would cost less but my Nighthawk is configured just like what you want with the exception of the rail and the caliber. I know they will build it anyway that you want

If the quote I get is close to or within the average prices he lists on his site looks like the Fusion will be much cheaper than a Nighthawk, not even a custom Nighthawk...

I actually shot a Nighthawk "Ladyhawk" 9mm recently that was a tack driver, and since getting sold on the 9mm single-action have been taking a hard look at the STI Trojan in 9mm too... but if I can get exactly what I want built just for me for somewhere in-between (around 1500-2000) I'll be ecstatic!

I've never had a custom gun built for me, and after looking at the pics in the Fusion forum you pointed me to, think I'm going to have to take the plunge.

Cool, please PM me when they give you the price, if you get that under 2K that will be an outstanding deal!

I will. Hope they hit my mark, as my concept of how much gun I expect for my money has been totally skewed since I got a Witness Elite Match recently...

Just don't see myself laying out too much cash on a gun unless it's something really special...

You will love the Diamond Black (ion bond Finish) it is truly amazing for a carry gun :D

Well, just dug deeper into Nighthawk's site and looks like I could indeed get them to build the same thing for me... except it's like 2750 for a Talon II bobtail, 200 for the change to 9mm, 100 for the Recon frame (rail), and then 375 for DiamondBlack... Yikes!!!

Have you had the Witness to the range yet? I was thinking about one a while back. I wonder how it would compare to a high end pistol?

PM sent. Looks like it is an outstanding deal! I'm getting one for sure!

It's Bob Serva's operation who brought Dan Wesson back from the dead as owner/president, then after selling DW to CZ, as president for awhile (seems all the happy DW CBOB/Razorback owners have him to thank!)... he's since parted ways with DW and Fusion is his "Low Quantity/High Quality" venture, seems like a very nice guy and his reputation is outstanding.

Yes, I'm up to 700+ flawless rounds with it. To be frank, it embarrasses most high end pistols, it's a top shelf piece that's priced for the everyman. It's got the best trigger I've ever had on a gun, and is far and away the most accurate gun I've ever owned (that company includes a Wilson CQB, and various Kimbers, Sigs, Berettas, H&K's, Glocks, you name it...). It's funny, I've let a couple guys shoot it and each time I've had to break out my iphone and show them exactly where I got it and give them the model number and such.

My Wilson was a gift from a departed friend of mine so I'll be keeping it, but it's relegated to safe status, the Match destroys it.

It's totally sold me and polarized me on single-actions again and is why I'm not really looking at any other new guns other than full custom (except of course I'm going to get the new Glock when it's released... old habits die hard), I'm going to pick up either another top end or whole other Match in .45acp after the holidays and who knows maybe down the road the 10mm... They're that good. I kind of lost interest in my other handguns after getting it and besides the Wilson, I sold 'em off... had to pick up a cheap first gen G17 so I'd have a carry gun (it's 1986 inside my waistband)!

As for these Fusions, after finding the Match's I wouldn't even be looking at them except I've always liked commander-sized 1911's as great "all-around carry, and anything else that comes up" guns, especially the bobtails, and considering the unbelievable reasonable price quote I just got back from them looks like I can't pass up having one built just as I like... that said, I hope it can out shoot the Match...

Agreed about Bob!! :screwy:

He has done me well on several parts purchases on a couple of builds. Nice guy and knows his stuff. He's been around the block a few times and is of great assistance if you're asking questions.

There is nothing like having a pistol built to your personal specifications, you will love it and spend a lot less than I did for my Nighthawk, Congrats :D

It's kind of funny... Different than the custom 1911 norm, I'm going to talk to Bob about actually building in some "looseness", I want the gun to be able to hang with the average Glock over a s**tload of rounds while maintaining the beautiful trigger sweetness that we've all come to know and love... want it to be able to take some abuse while maintaining it's composure... Seems like the right guy/operation to do it.
