Cherokee 16 gauge

Was in the gun safe today prowling around and got out my old 16 gauge Cherokee shotgun. . .been in my family now for at least 3 generations anybody know anything about them. . .

Correct on the crescent arms. Crescent made a ton of these guns and sold them under different names/labels. They used to be referred to as "hardware shotguns" because all the local hardware stores sold them. They were "tools" back in those days, being used to put food on the table and I guess to shoot any unwanted varmits around the farm.

My grandfather had a side by side 12ga Cherokee that went to his brother when he died. Unfortunately nobody seems to know what happened to it after that. Sure wish I could find that old shotgun.

good luck finding/paying for shells. I have a Browning A5 16 gauge that I love except when it comes to buying shells
