Most Useless Gun?

The Rabbi

Recommended Posts

Submit your proposals or nominations for the most useless handgun. For proposals, something that could be produced but isn't currently. For nominations something in current production. Merely being "cool" isn't enough to save the gun from this list--indeed, that's got to be one criterion.

My first nomination (current production):

The 2" Smith 500Mag. The gun itself is close to useless although for pistol hunting boar the long-barrel versions make a kind of sense. But 2" guns are made for concealment/ease of carry. But a carry gun that weighs over 54oz empty really doesn't hold a lot of attraction.

Proposed Production: Same gun in airweight Centennial configuration.

I suppose we should specify to whom our entries are useless... There is always someone who can use anything for something.

The Five-seveN is useless to anybody who can't buy the proprietary ammo, at least.

You raise a point I should have clarified.

"Useless" doesnt mean useless to you. It means either useless for the intended purpose (like the 2" 500mag I mentioned) or useless for any purpose other than being "cool."

The 5-7 is good for what it was designed for: delivering a highly penetrating round from a duty sized handgun carrying a large capacity. Just because most people couldnt really benefit from that doesnt render it useless, just irrelevant for most people.

Wrong.

The holes in this helmet were done with "standard" ammunition, not AP.

But I will say that I don't have a need for a Five-seveN. Other calibers and guns work for what I need.

This is probably against the spirit of this thread, but:

1) My nomination for most useless gun is a tie between:

a) Any gun you are not carrying when it is needed; and :) any gun you are carrying that you left unloaded.

2) My proposed solutions:

a) Carry your gun

:stir: Carry your gun loaded

Sorry, dealing with some student issues today and this was on my mind. The best gun out there is useless if its at home in the safe instead of on your person in a ready-to-use condition.

PS to Mars: I hope you were not wearing that helmet at the time it was perforated...

musicman, you beat me to it. That 2.34mm Swiss rimfire will give you a smokin' hot 400 fps or so of velocity. and cost you about $8.50 per 24 rounds. Not counting the $5400 plus tax it would take to actually buy one... If they were legal in the States.

In case anyone wanted to know, current exchange rate is about $0.85 per 1 Swiss Franc.

But this is the truly useless version:

Phoenix arms 22. :censored:It is the most usless piece of crap I've seen. 1st you have to put the saftey on to release the mag,:) then you have to empty the mag,:) put it back in and then you can pull the slide back to eject the round in it chamber, plus the one I had was not accurate at all (an no it was not me).
