The Iraq war "takes a great toll on members ... within that context their measure is tested, but there's not that much in the cup because it's so painful to face this and detest what's going on,"

It doesn't take as much toll on congress as it does on the soldiers that fight it...and since those soldiers (the everyday soldiers on patrol) think that this war is worth fighting, then you'd think that those yellow bellied carpet baggers would stand behind them. but no..they won't do that. it doesn't fit in with what THEY want...not whats good for our country..not what's good for Iraq.

Crocodile tears mean nothing...lets see some proactive resolutions coming from congress (hey if pro means for, and con means against...its no wonder CONgress can't get anything done) for the troops and for our safety.

Further evidence of how screwed up most liberals are... and how screwed up politics is, in general.

The democratic party raises huge misdirected contention with anything involved with the loss of life, unless it's young mothers who "get 'em early" before they have a SSN and would be potential voters. Hypocritical, no?

No decent human being, regardless of political affiliation, enjoys human suffering or death... But responsible folks take the initiative to be stronger than evil, not weaker. That involves being willing to subdue evil with measured violence, at times. Irresponsible folks sit back and criticize any action which is not pacifist in nature, meanwhile those who care nothing about either side's opinion take advantage of the weak.

I agree and it goes further. The Dems could stop the war tomorrow. They have had the ability to do that for months. Simply cut off funding and US involvement will cease. BUt then they would have to take responsibility, and would lose it as an election issue. It is far more valuable to them as fodder for anti-GOP rhetoric. So they are cynically using US casualties to bolster their own political standing via outrage. Totally disgusting.

Rabbi, you're right.

I've found that leftwing moonbats would rather accuse someone of something than take steps to rectify the situation. They know, after all, that the conservatives will take steps to secure their freedom.

another big problem are the Socialists that are now rising in America. These organizations are not interested in solving any problems but sowing discord so as to promote the fall of the union.
