Last time I was home we had a little get-together down at my range - 4 or 5 of us.

We were there for pistol practice. We had targets posted, but the real hoot was when someone found a golfball on the range (Wonder how that got there, C.A.S.? :puke: ).

Trying to hit a golfball at 7 yards or so is a lot of fun! Definitely doing that again...

Elusive little critters, ain't they?

I think Nike made that particular golf ball with a tungsten/vanadium/unobtainium alloy as it was impervious to .45, 9mm, 32, 00 Buck, and Slugs.

C.A.S.?

Sounds like a fun way to test your aim!

Me

I'm surprised you didn't find more.

Just the one, but it kept us busy for at least an hour and a half before it gave up the ghost. We took turns - 1 magazine each. If you didn't get a solid hit, or hit the tee (soda bottle), it just fell off.

I did okay . Brought my 3 wood (1911) and my putter (Woodsman).

Haha I was at ORSA with one of my friends about a month ago and I hit a golfball at about 10yds away with my FN Hi-power .40...the damn thing actually got so much air it cleared the berm and went into the outer woods.

Depends on what you hit it with, SS. Generally it takes off. .22LR and golf balls makes for a fun day.

Wait, so does a golf ball vaporize when hit or does it actually take off like somebody just swatted it?

With a .40 or less they will either bounce or go airborn. Bigger then that I dont know. They definitely can take a hit though...I have never seen one actually come apart...usually they just get a deformation or dent.

Hit one with a 45 one time. Had to hike a huge field to get it back. Couldn't even tell it had been hit except for a black smudge on the back.

Fully mushroomed round inside of it, craziness.

I collect every golf ball I find just for this purpose.:)

You ain kidding Mark it's a hoot.

I once witnessed Musicman hit one out about 35yrds with a .44mag.

Official name for the sport is READNECK GOLF!

It was a lot of fun. Work-safe, too; nothing scary about getting a bucket of balls and heading for the range.

Beats the hell outta golf...:)
