Mossy 500A suggested parts/modifications..

I recently bought a Mossberg 500A self defense model with the 20" barrel and 7 shot magazine and have come to the conclusion that the included pistol grip sucks. As there are a lot of options for aftermarket stocks, grips, etc. I am looking for suggestions as to which ones to consider and which ones to avoid. I want a pistol grip and am leaning towards the idea of a AR style multi position stock and a generally tacticool style setup. I want to avoid wasting my money on crap production pieces.

Also looking for suggestions on good slings, shell holders, lights, all the fun useful stuff to put on while avoiding excess weight and making it to cumbersome. I don't mind spending money for quality, but I also don't like throwing it away when there are less expensive alternatives of equal or better quality.

Mods that require minor smith work don't scare me as I enjoy the challenge.

Everyone has different tastes. I have a Mossberg Maverick 88 which I just finished upgrading. Installed a TacStar pistol grip and foregrip, six shell side saddle, side saddle flashlight mount, Walther Xenon flashlight with pressure switch, and Mossberg heat shield. Had to go a couple steps further and get a Mossberg 500 forend tube and nut off of Gunbroker but with an actual 500 you shouldn't have any problems at all finding a forearm that is if you are going to replace it.

I have a Mossberg Persuader 500A. I found a neat package on Ebay that I think will work well for me. It has all the goodies. Probably cheap junk but I'm sure some of it would be useful. If just 2 pieces were.

I have had pretty good luck on Ebay.

I just bought a 30" barrel off a guy on Glocktalk and might just look for a good cheap 500A with a slug barrel and scope to change out for Turkey shooting and slugging.

Get the Knoxx Spec Ops stock and Hogue fore end grip. You will be super pleased with that. I will take pics of my 590 Persuader tomorrow since I made the mods.
