HCP wrong expiration date!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, this may not be the right place to post this question, if not I do appologize.

My question is this, I came home from Iraq on midtour and got my carry permit. I went back to Iraq and 5 months later I came home and my permit was waiting for me at the house. However, I noticed that the experiation date was wrong, it said it expires in 2005, when I just received it.

I am so very pissed right now, I know I need to call the dept of safety, I just dont know what or how long it will take to rectify the situation and if I can carry my handgun even though the permit says it expires in 2005.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated:eek::screwy::eek:

Since TnHCP cards don't bear an issue date :screwy:, you don't even have that going for you.

All I know is what you already mentioned......call the DOS and explain the deal to them, and see if they can expedite you a new card.

Anyway, glad you're home safe and sound and thanks for your service :usa:

well as an update, I called the Dept of Safety and they said that they made the mistake (imagine that)

I asked them if my permit was showing up on record as showing an expired date and they said yes. I then asked them if my HCP was active or not, and as you might have guessed, its not active and I cant legally carry with my permit.

So now I have to sit and wait for them to mail me a NEW HCP. So I guess I can just sit here and carry my weapon around the house and not on me when I leave my property.

Yea, saying that im PO is an understatement........:):censored::rofl:

Did they say they were going to expedite the new HCP? Sorry, I laughed as I typed that. Expedite... .gov....LOL.

You may be able to carry expired permit with renewal paperwork. This is done occasionally. However, this usually assumes the renewal process was initiated while the (now) expired THP was valid....It may be a no-go, but worth asking.
