HoloSight or Reflex for Shotgun

I've got an FN TPS with the A2 style sights and a picatinny rail. I'm considering putting a Bushnell HoloSight II(Eotech minus shroud) or a Trijicon Reflex with Triangle Reticle on the rail for low light/home defense situations. Which sight would you guys recommend? I already own both optics, so price isn't a consideration. Whichever one doesn't go on the shotgun is going to be sitting on an M4.

Do you have a light on the shotgun?

I ask because the Reflex is prone to "washout" with a weapon mounted light.

No light at this point. May be a good consideration though...

If only the Eotech had a sensor that when you picked it up it turned on..... Personally, I would reach for my shotgun and would like a sight that was already turned on, enough other stuff to worry about. FWIW I have an Eotech on my AR and a brass bead on my Mossberg. AR and Eotech live in the safe and the Plain Jane Mossberg stands at the ready. Not the best plan but that's how it stands at the moment.

Personally, after taking the SafetySouth Defensive Shotgun class, I wouldn't spend the money mounting a light or holo sight on a shotgun. Given most situations with the home and that most shots will be 7-15 feet a bead sight or fiber optic sight will give you the sight picture you need.

As well, consider that in most homes, unless you are using blackout curtains, there is generally enough ambient light to see in your home and that using a light can seriously change your night vision which takes a while to return.

Just some points to consider when thinking about your own home defense situation.

How would a laser light be suited to this application? Pressure pad at the grip and it would be on when you pick it up. You would need to bring it up either. You could fire on target from any stance/position. Just my $.02

I'm not a big fan of optics on shotguns... They offer no advantages over a laser or front night-sight and a light, especially if you have to fumble to turn them on or constantly readjust their zero due to the heavy recoil. But if you got one, I'd recommend something small and unobtrusive, perhaps like one of the Doctor holosights.
