Sell firearms (black rifles, brown rifles, handguns, etc.) and/or archery equipment in or around Chattanooga ... that don't suck.

I want to see who else we can reach out to and invite to participate at the Guns & Gear Expo coming up in December. Feel free to either reply in this thread or send me a PM.

Here in Cleveland, there is a decent little shop on the South end of town. I have been in there a few times and they seem nice enough. The owner is former Army WO and one of the sales guy is former Marine that I deployed with back in 87. I havent bought, or even price thier firearms, but I have stopped in on occasion to pick up cleaning supplies or other misc. stuff. I could swing by there tomorrow if you would like.

I contacted Warren about the Expo earlier in the fall and he was too busy to consider it. I guess he's making enough money and doesn't need any more business. :D

It sure would be nice if he'd change his mind, because I know we're going to pull a ton of Chattanooga people into the show and right now we've got no one to refer them to in that area.

You can try All American gun shop, 423-745-1047. Ask for Dennis. Tell him Gerald McLawhorn said to call (he doesn't know me by dralarms:rolleyes:). He might be interested.

Also Fugate firearms 423-336-2675, Her name is Carmen (I think) small mom and pop (mostly mom) operation. she might not be interested but you could try.

Greatly appreciated.

And thanks for the other suggestions too, folks. I'm making notes. :D

:D:rolleyes: Last time I was there they were so full of themselves it was hard to breath in the building.

Well that sucks. The last time I was there(a year ago) they were really cool. Tons of reloading supplies.

Volunteer Ordinance Works 888-478-0080

DG Ordinance 423-472-2222

I've done business with both these folks and they are good people. I can't remember the Smith's name at DG but he has done some quality work for me at really good prices

I have delt with a guy outside Cleveland that was good to deal with. I am not sure if he carries the type of stuff you are interested in, but you might want to check him out. www.silversfirearms.com He was a pretty small shop, but I think he might have been expanding a little recently. Anyway, good guy to deal with, give him a shout.

strickj beat me to it, but I was going to mention GT Distributors in Rossville GA........but they may be focusing on LE sales or other genres.

ETA-but in these economic times, government revenues & spending down, etc.......they might welcome a front porch opportunity for civilian gun owners.

In my opinion there are only 2 places I prefer, and they are Skip's Firearms, and Scott Bookkeeping.

Skip's Firearms is a great business to deal with if you know what you want. He can get what you are looking for at a great price. If you prefer the transfer route he charges the least for them in this area.

The other that I like is Scott Bookkeeping, basically he is transfers only but is great to deal with and charges a fair price for transfers. If you are into NFA talk to the owner as he will make the whole process very easy, best guy to use for NFA transfers by-far.

I do not recommend Volunteer Ordnance Works, you can easily beat any of their prices by a considerable margin. VOW was great to deal with when Dan was the owner, however things have changed. I personally find the new owner to be one of the rudest people I have had the displeasure of dealing with, EVER! If he reads this I would like to say that use of profanity and general trash-talk toward a customer is not an advisable policy.

Wow, that's pretty unforunate about VOW. I had asked them to consider coming to the Expo in December because they typically have a very nice display at the gun shows. The owner said that they were too busy now and weren't doing any more gun shows than the ones they were already committed to. I didn't really buy that excuse, but whatever. :tinfoil:
