As a high school teacher, I always start my classes with a few problems to keep them busy while I take role and a bell ringer question.

Today's question was, "What should you say to a Marine today?"

I was really impressed, I had 7 of my students know the answer without guessing. (I usually have 1 or 2.)

I then spend about 5 minutes telling them of the history of the Corps and highlighting the sacrafices at Iwo Jima. My freshmen do something rare for this one, they shut up and listen. Then they ask questions like, "You mean we lost more men in the 1st day on Iwo Jima than we have lost over 8 years in Iraq???"

You ARE recognized, appreciated, and respected.
