First Shotgun

My first was the Ithaca 37, on my thirteenth b-day. Then I acquired the Remington 1100 I used growing up for dove hunting. Last but not least, my Benelli Super Black Eagle II, which is a worry free shotgun which handled the wet conditions of Alaska without rust, wear, or malfunction.

Well thank you for your insight! I have decided that I am going to go with a REM. 870 after a weekend trip to Hero Gear.i handled a mossberg but ehhh something didn't feel sturdy about any mossberg I handled. (not trying to bash any mossberg lovers)now to the hard decision. What barrel length should I go with? Should I get a 18.5 and then buy a longer barrel for any sporting/hunting? Any clue what price that run up for me? Thanks.

I've seen barrels from $150 - $185 and you may be able to find someone who has one laying around that will give you a deal.

if its gonna be used for HD and plinking get an 18.5" or 20" preferably with a fiber front sight(or ghostrings ftw). Really though it doesnt matter a whole lot because you can always buy another barrel later. I did get a really good deal awhile back on a new fiber front sight 18.5" barrel for $60 but it seems they are more these days. I do have a preference for 870's also..they seem sturdier. Im probably gonna sell my 870 Police Magnum(better internals) with extended tube and knoxx stock here soon if your wanting something hardcore.
