Can't acces the link at work. What's the jist? Since they have to stop making the .22LR version, they're just going to make a 9mm version?

I don't see how this is going to happen with the settlement they made with H&K.

"Okay, we'll stop making the .22 version, but we're going to knock it off in 9mm"?

It just seems like a sure fire way to have to hand your counsel a lot of money.

Re: Heckler and Koch, Inc. vs. German Sport Guns GmbH, American Tactical Imports,

Inc. Civil Action No. 1 : 09-cv-00039-WTL-JMS (S.D. Indiana)

For immediate release,

We are very pleased to report that the litigation filed by Heckler & Koch, Inc. against

German Sport Guns GmbH and its U.S. distributor, American Tactical Imports, Inc.,

together with all counterclaims, has been settled.

The terms of the settlement are confidential to the parties and cannot be disclosed. A

dismissal of the above-referenced litigation, and all of the party’s claims against each

other, is expected to be filed in the near future.

Attorneys for H&K will be issuing a statement. The attorneys for ATI have already

issued a statement announcing the settlement.

Production and importation of the original design GSG-5 ceased as of Oct, 8, 2009 with

the signing of the agreement. The remaining inventory now in the USA can be sold by

ATI, all distributors and dealers. ATI currently has GSG-5’s in stock.

All sales of the GSG-5 by ATI must conclude by January 31, 2010. ATI will continue to

service every firearm that it imports into the USA.

Thank you for your support.

Anthony DiChario

President C.E.O.

American Tactical Imports, Inc.

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing a 9mm version.

I think HK's horse in that race was the fact that they have a licensed .22LR MP5 (and MP7) hitting the market from Umarex pretty soon.

That said, I don't know whether or not HK is anxious to let GSG get away w/ a 9mm version.

Why haven't they ever gone after SW/Bobcat/Cohaire though? Because they don't sell a civy MP5 in the states? ;)

Thats my thoughts on it. HK could have done this a long time ago and didnt. I dont think they will care at all about a 9mm version on the market since this was settled out of court...heck that might have even been part of their settlement agreement (no .22 but other calibers are ok). The demand is definitely there...lets hope GSG can deliver. :koolaid:

Let's hope if GSG is makeing a 9mm version, the quality is better than their plastic 22LR ones and the bobcat/cohaire ones. too bad Vector stoped making theirs.

I wonder if they will let me trade my NIB 22 version for that one! That would be nice. I like the way the 9 looks compared to the 22.

im pretty excited about this....though I wonder if the Semi Auto Steyr TMP might not be a better choice.

The semi TMP was called the SSP, and I don't think it's being imported anymore. Steyr did license the design to Bruger & Thomet and they import it as the B&T TP9.

The SSP didn't have a foregrip, but with the TP9, you could add one (if you were to SBR it, obviously ;)) as it has a rail.

You might have already known all this, I just thought I'd pass it on for anyone interested... I've been wanting one for a while! :)

lol...your absolutely correct. You can also buy the side folding shoulder stock for the TP9 as long as you SBR it. I really like those but having a full auto m11/9 kinda keeps me from being able to justify the purchase. Poak buy one and let me shoot it and I will let you shoot my fully :D

Sounds like a deal!

FWIW, I was searching around last night, and Bud's has a used SSP for sale for $699, but the pic they are showing is of one of Steyr's M model pistols. Seems like a decent deal though.
