SIG P220R off to the Spa

I have just received my shipping slip from Sig, the custom shop services have been paid for all I have to do is drop it off at the UPS hub in the Morning I considered Grey's for the trigger work and Wayne Novak for the Night Sights but I wanted to retain its lifetime warranty and let SIG be the only ones who smith this pistol

they will be doing the following

1. AEP (Action Enhancement Program) Basically making the trigger more 1911 like for me and polishing the feed ramp

2. SRT (Short Reset Trigger)

3. SIG Lights (night sights) they will be sighting it in at 15 yards with Remington Golden Saber 230 Grain

they are also throwing all new springs and stuff even though this pistol has never been shot,

All of this including VIP shipping for $400.00, so I will have my P220R exactly as I want as I could not buy a stock pistol from them configured this way. I have put Houge Re-Checkered stock grips and a Black stainless steel Guide rod from AR-15.com. on the pistol but it remains unfired

I was told to expect it back in 3 to 4 weeks, delivered to my home I am really looking forward to getting it

I would love to check this out when you get it back. I'm interested in the same thing minus the Sig sights since I already have them on my 220 Combat.

I would have no problem with that, I will shoot you a PM when it gets back and perhaps we can meet up

How do you make a DA trigger like that "1911 like?" I'd like to see it, too, when it comes back...

From what I am told, they hone and polish everything to make it a very Light pull(as light as they recommend on a carry gun) that combined with the Short reset trigger make it close to the Earnest Langdon P220 trigger job that was made a while back. I shot one of those and it was as close to a 1911 as you can get a DA trigger pull

I thought you had already sent this in. Very interested in your feedback when you get it back. If you haven't shot a SIG with the SRT yet, you'll dig it.

One of my best friends had his P220 sent back to sig for the same work you are having done besides the sights. It is AMAZING! ;) By far the best Sig trigger I have ever felt. Now its not up there with some of the hign end 1911s, but I dont really think you can ask for that from a single/double action pistol. If yours is anything like his I think you will be very happy.

Thanks Jason,

Scott Rudolph of Sig's custom shop assures me that I will love it, and he knows that I am a 1911 guy :)

I hope you like it but if you are expecting a 1911 trigger, you will be disappointed. I have several Sigs. I have a 226ST that Bruce Gray did his magic on - it is wonderful. very smooth and relatively "light" double action, very short reset, and crisp single action (but not a 1911). I have but 9000+ rounds through in the past 3 years. On the other hand, I have another 226, an older one that I shoot alot in the 90's that needed its 20,000 round check up. Prior to meeting Bruce, I sent that an older 226 into Sig and requested their AEP (this was prior to their SRT package). Frankly I was dissappointed with the new improved double action pull - it was smooth but still very heavy. From now on, only Gray Guns will work on my Sigs.

I know it will not be exactly like my 1911 triggers,Ed Brown, Nighthawk custom, that is impossible I am just looking forward to the short reset and less pull, I sent it off today and I know I will be happy with it.
