Dear Members of the Press,

The Weinstein Company has decided to do a roll out release pattern of THE ROAD and it will no longer be opening on 11/25/09 in your market. LINK

Looks like it wont be released in TN anytime soon... :drama:

Heres a list of the release markets: "THE ROAD" CITIES

i read the book over a year ago (the road that is). A very powerful book. In my opinion you should read the book before going to see the movie. But that is just my opinion when it comes to any movie made based off a book... anyway, if it is going to be anything like the book, it will be absolutely incredible. if i remember correctly it wasnt really a SHTF movie, but more of a father son connection after the end of the world. Wow, TGO book club anyone? completely a joke haha

I should have quoted to whom I was talking. The movie I saw was 2012, not THE ROAD.

anybody else pissed that this movie is in limited release. Atlanta is the closest place its showing. Talked with Carmike, they said the distributor may expand it in a few weeks but no promises. Seems pretty stupid to limited release a movie based on a best selling novel whose authors last movie was a huge hit. It also has great actors in it. I never imagined they would limit this movie, there are so many stupid movies out there and I cant see this one without driving 100 miles.

In case anyone was wondering, Walmart (at least the new on in Murfreesboro) has copies of the book. $5.97, picked one up yesterday.

The Road is a great film (in my opinion), though it is very dark and depressing. Pretty much like the book.

I have added it to my Netflix queue. I should get in soon.

Sorry I don't read many books. I had a couple so-called teachers that used reading and writing as punishment when I was in grade school, sorry Elementary School.

I can not sit down and read a book for nothing, however something I am really interested in, I will look it up and read about it.

In the past 5 years, I have started reading News stories online and I have noticed my reading skills have improved allot. However I am not to the point I am ready to tackle a book yet.

Loved it. I think people are too happy and prefer to live in la-la land. Can't contemplate the possibilities.

Didn't look through the whole thread but do you guys think cannibalism is a real possibility? I just saw the movie a few weeks ago. I liked it. I did not read the book however.

I've said it here before. I'd start by making a roast out of the thighs.

Yah, when you're eating cold, uncooked human butt, you know you've hit the wall...

I liked the book, I hated most of the movie. I was very bored at the 2/3ish mark and by the end I was wanting the kid to get eaten by the people on the beach. He really got on my nerves.
