Sony's Secret Extended Warranty

This isn't firearms related, but maybe someone else has one of these TV's.

Due to multiple class-action lawsuits filed (one settled and at least 2 pending) against Sony, they have extended the warranty on many of their TV's. 3 1/2 MILLION TV's to be exact.

The problem is, many consumers are not being made aware of the extended warranty because Sony is trying real hard to keep this hush-hush, for obvious reasons. I registered my 60" SXRD with Sony, and still was never made aware of the extended warranty, nor was I made aware of the potential for concern. How convenient. My boss and his parent, both have the same TV, and neither if them were notified either.

The main focus of this extended warranty is the Optic Block and Related Problems. This is NOT a cheap fix if it ends up being an out-of-pocket expense. Figure upwards of $1500.
