Today i bought a CMMG .22 Conversation kit over at East side gun store.

so far it fits great in my custom 5.56ss J&T upper. it slides in without any problems.

i got some CCI mini mags for testing. hope will go soon to test functionality.

does anyone has any experience with this kit?

here is some pictures

update :stunned:

went to range today and got to tell you, it was fun.

i was impressed that .22 conversation was as good if not better and more reliable than my 10/22

shot some cci mini mags , Winchester xpert 22 and Remington thunderbolt

all together shot 400 rounds and had only one failure to eject, with Remington thunder bolt

and 3 of Remington rounds didn't fire at all, firing pin strike it hard but round didn't fire.

i didn't test it for accuracy just performance.

after 400 rounds, barrel was really dirty i pushed cleaning road true barrel only once. installed 5.56 bolt and shot 5 rounds. took it apart and barrel looked clean

at home it was easy to take it apart and clean

I have one and it shoots decent groups at 50 yards in M&P15. It does gunk up the rifle pretty bad though. The magazine is pretty loose in the well, and if you apply any pressure to the magazine while shooting, it will jam. I just ordered a black dog mag from brownells; we will see if it works better though I doubt it. I think that the one I have that came with the CMMG is a black dog. It is a lot of fun, no doubt.

Watch for wear on the bottom of your charging handle near the grip.

I picked up a CMMG conversion kit from another TGO'er recently and have only put about 75 rounds through it but so far so good.

How does the conversation kit work? Is it something you buy and talk about what it should do? :P

I picked one up for $125.00 at the last gun show in Knoxville. The guy had several of them, all brand new, and the price was so good I couldn't pass it up.

I put about 100 rounds through mine while sighting up a scope on my AR and it preformed flawlessly. Definately dirtier than .223, however considering the ease of removal, cleaning, and re-installing it's a not a big deal at all.

I now can have fun with the AR and not watch dollar bills fly out of my pockets...lol
