Is Famous Dave's Posted?

My wife and I were waiting in the lobby of Famous Dave's in Knoxville last night and witnessed a customer being asked by the staff to leave his gun in his car. I walked outside to look at their windows and didn't see any signs or official posting about no guns. We were seated before I was able to see how it played out but was just wondering if anyone has had any other problems at a Famous Dave's?

The one in Smyrna isn't either, but they don't have to be in order to ask you to leave it outside if they see it. Concealed is concealed.

I've been at the hermitage location several times. It's not posted but I don't OC. It's always covered by a shirt tail.

I have eaten at the one in Knoxville, Smyrna and regularly at the one in Hermitage ( I like Dave's :) ). None have been posted. I also CC and no one has asked me to leave mine in the car either. ;)

Hey folks,

none of the Famous Dave's in Tennessee are posted. FD is a believer of the 2nd amendment. In usual fashion, there is a conflict between the gun law and the ABC liquor laws. A recent inspection by the ABC department confirmed the following: any establishment that has an ABC liquor license must have a sign by the bar even though it conflicts with the most recent gun laws. I hope this helps clarify.

The sign does not conflict - it is illegal to carry weapons where alcohol is served. The HCP is an exception on that. Folks without the HCP are still banned from bringing weapons where alcohol is served.

Just like it is illegal in TN to carry a weapon with the intent to go armed - and the HCP is an exception to that. Folks without the HCP are still barred from "going armed."
