The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America ("NACA") is a non-profit, community advocacy and homeownership organization. NACA’s primary goal is to build strong, healthy neighborhoods in urban and rural areas nationwide through affordable homeownership. NACA has made the dream of homeownership a reality for working people by counseling them honestly and effectively with far better terms than those provided even in the prime market.

I honestly know very little about them. I recently met someone who took advantage of their services and was more than impressed. I didn't get many details, so I thought I'd try to find someone else who may be able to shed some light.

nothing wrong with Acorn or NACA when it helps a decent hardworking person realize a dream.

Never heard of NACA but if they will help you and be a good resource I say use them.

Sounds like an ACORN clone to me

I had a similar thought when I first visited the website.

Being a single father who's never received a penny in child support or financial assistance of any kind (private or governmental), I sure wouldn't mind someone helping me get the best deal possible on my first home.

I wouldn't be looking for free handouts or something that could negatively effect others, so I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting myself into something like that.

My friend, I feel for you, but I believe that YOU have the ability of making smart decisions yourself without the "assistance" of a third party. I am with you on making sure youhave the best deal for your situation, but most things I have read about groups like this and ACORN is that they are "helping" you make decisions that are already available to you. Good luck in your first home purchase!
