Not marketing Glock in CA would be a serious hurt to their economy.

I really do not see how Glock refusing to sell its wares in California would hurt the economy of a state the size of California. Their sales must be at best part of a drop in a bucket of Cal's. GSP.

And obviously the threat by Glock made no impact on the outcome of this bill.

I doubt if all gun makers stopping sales in Cal would change anything. Getting guns out of there is the total intent of this bill anyway.

It would be even better if they outright refused to supply law enforcement agencies with their products.

I'd be surprised if that ever happened, but I'd be just as surprised if any gun manufacturer other than Ronnie Barrett had the back-bone to do that, either...

You never know, though, Glock has plenty of foreign contracts... such as Iran, to keep them afloat.

It's sad when a question of the lesser of two evils might be between California and Iran...

I'm glad someone mentioned Ronnie Barrett. While it was nice that he boycotted CA for banning the .50 if you'll notice he is selling the .416 (or whatever the calibre is) to get around CA's laws.

I would bet that Glock LE sales in CA are enough that they won't stop selling or will argue for an LE exception.

Still, nice to see a gun manufacturer coming down on the right side. Their logical arguments based on fact pretty well guarantee they will be ignored.

Very true. This legislation has the look and feel of "feel good" laws that do little if anything to actually address the problem they argue exists. There are so many ways around the intent of this law, its almost beyond the pale.

Feel-good legislation does nothing except make life harder on unintended parties. (And help some politicians get re-elected claiming they are "tough on crime.") Sigh...
