Hey HERO Can you reg my weapon as a AOW for me?

I have a pistol shotgun I would like to have cut down and reg as an AOW. (with forward pistol grip too)

The way I understand it is I have 2 options

(1) I send in a form 1 and reg it as a AOW or SBS ($200 fee)

(2) I send the weapon to a reg mfg and they can reg it as an AOW for free and its only a $5 tax stamp for me to get it back.

If this is true, what is the charge for you to log/reg my shotgun as an AOW and xfer it back to me.

Can you do the chopping of the barrel and forward grip as well (if Not I have a friend that runs a machine shop that can do it for me) but I need it reg first.

No, I can't (and neither can any other 02 SOT for that matter)

To qualify as an AOW, you must build said AOW on a virgin receiver.

What I CAN do is receive it from you, build it into an SBS for you, mark it HERO GUNS

WINCHESTER, TN.

and transfer it back to you on a Form 4.

I've always wondered, why is a "pistl shotgun" considered an AOW by BATF, but the Taurus Judge is not? Does anyone know?

IIRC what makes a "pistol shotgun" an AOW is the smooth bore. They Judge has a rifled barrel and legally, that makes it a standard revolver.

A M10/9 right now. I have my eyes on a Colt M16 but I'm having to wait unitll Jan to get it.

I"m still waiting on a dealer xfer of 3 more items, but I guess they take time too lol
