Well there she is fellas. My very first deer kill. Don't laugh, I know she is small, but hey i got out out there and got the kill and it was my first one so I had alot of jitters going on. This was only my fourth solo hunt since starting to hunt last season.

I went out Saturday morning around 6:45 in my ground blind. By 7:10 I had eight doe creep up behind me, but I could not get turned around to get a shot. One of them busted me and send them all running the other direction. Where my blind is in a bottle neck part of the woods, so I knew that they had to come through eventually. Sure enough within ten minutes they all popped back up within range. I watched them for a bit and seen that I could only get a shot at that one small doe, so I took a deep breath and let her rip. I don't know if I jerked the bow or she jumped the arrow but I ended up busting her in the back hip, I know, terrible shot right? I seen her run off with the arrow in her so I knew that I got her. So I went back to my house and came back later that afternoon to pick her up. She only ran a good 60 yards from the shot. Thanks to the Muzzys that I shoot, it punched a hole in through her spine the size of a half-dollar.

Not only was this my first kill, it was my first field-dress to do ever. I had only seen it done in person by one other buddy of mine (memphismason). All in all it was a great day, i truly appreciate all the information everyone has shared with me on this site. And a special thanks to my bud memphismason for putting up with all my questions and bringing me a celebration Coca-Cola for my first kill.

Got my first last week and I know you feel, Nice Job! !!

Small Doe, Big Doe, all boils down to meat in the freezer..

Not sure what model your shooting but I shoot Muzzy's MX-3's and was surprised how big a hole they make.

Congrats! There's nothing like putting the first one behind you. You'll get the field dressing down too. I didn't hear anyone had christened you though? Maybe you were lucky you were by yourself. :)

Cool, hopefully I'll get my first one when rifle season starts. She may be small but I bet she's good eating.

Congrats man, nothing like taking one with stick and string. Keep up the hard work. Took me forever to get me one down. Hope you bring down a few more this season. Good luck!

Here is a public Congrats, buddy. Nice job.

The arrow went into her hind leg and angled up-wards and busted out on the top of her back. Weird pattern, but it did the job. I was really shocked at how large the exit hole was.

That coke was good wasn't it?

(My friend owns a store and sells Mexican made Coke, Pepsi and Sprite in half liter glass bottles, made with real sugar. No corn syrup at all. They are tasty.)

I won't be laughing. You've killed one more than I have. Hopefully that will change when gun season starts, November 21. The guy I'm going with has seen multiple deer every day he's been out so far, which is about every day. Hopefully that trend will continue.

I was looking forward to the Mexican cokes by-the-case at Sam's because I asked several Latinas where to get the "real thing" and they had no idea. Maybe the cases were old because no one wanted to buy expensive glass, but they had no fizz. They were half flat. Are you finding some with fizz equal to American? I like a Coke that burns a little.
