Mossberg 500A safety

I have a mossberg 500A with the stepped safety and one way screw. I have a problem with the safety in that after a shot or two the safety slides into safe partially preventing me from firing. I need to keep my thumb on it as I fire. Anyone know which part in the safety mechanism to start with? Does one just drill out the one way screw or is the special tool for it worth purchasing?

I realize this is in the wrong forum. Not sure how to move it.

There should be a ball and spring in there preventing travel. When you slide it either way do you feel or hear the "click"? if not there are rebuild kits on ebay and Numrich. I finally ordered one off ebay after refusing to buy 1 kit for $5 when you can get 6 sets for $11 from Numrich.

here's the one I ordered. no need for a steel one unless you have a 590.Mossberg 500 Shotgun Safety Button Parts Repair Kit Set - eBay (item 250509713718 end time Nov-05-09 06:55:59 PST)
