Sig 226 Conversion to .22

Been looking into the little conversion kit for my Sig 226 and curious if anybody else has gone that route as well. Only thing I do not like about it is it uses a custom slide which the sights on my current slide are WAY nicer since I have the Blackwater Tactical. Also do not dig a 10 round mag for it when my 9mm has 20 round mags.

So any experience with this kit?

I have the same unit for my P220. After a modest break-in period it works really well. For a .22 I don't see the 10 round capacity as being a big deal, but there is a guy who sells aftermarket followers for the factory mags that increase the capacity. I want to say the new capacity becomes around 15.

I just picked one up for mine and i like it. i sold my mosquito to fund it and i am happy with it. the spring/mag plug upgrades are nice from sigpower. They do make them hold 15 rounds. Mine has run great out of the box, except for a thread issue on my adapter/barrel . I got mine from hero gear and they where the cheapest by far. It is much cheaper to shoot 22 as opposed to 9mm, but just as fun.

If you dont mind me asking how much did it cost?

Buddy of mine thinks the reason it has its own slide is to do with the weight since .22 wont push the 9mm slide back as easily. Not sure if that is true but it makes sense.

It was $329 for the threaded barrel setup, not sure but I would suspect the non threaded version would be $299. I think thats what I saw and they had them instock as of a few week ago. Yes the 22 slide is lighter for the 22 ammo to cycle. I love mine.

Love mine. I like to shoot a lot and 22 ammo is so much cheaper and easier to find. We have one kit for a 226 and one kit for a 229 and both run flawlessly.
