For those of you who were at the 2nd or None Event early, we heard from a woman, I didn't get her name, that was there representing an event happening next year called The Second Amendment March in Washington DC as well as marches on state capitals around the country.

Their website is Official site of the Second Amendment March

They have a lot of information on there and they have state coordinators and ours in TN is Thomas Harvey. His email address is theharv@charterinternet.com

I am going to get in touch with him and try to get him to join here so that he can keep us informed about the march.

Let's do all that we can to help this effort to be a great success and really get behind this.

I tried to contact Tom Harvey who is the TN coordinator but his email was full so I sent an email to the main contact email address for 2nd Amendment March and I got a reply from Terri Stocke. She is the woman who made the trip from Michigan to speak at the 2nd or None event last week. Here is her email to me.

Hi David,

That was me! Thanks for attending.

I'll get your email info to Tom and let him know about his email being full. Thanks for letting me know.

Right now our most pressing needs are:

1) Securing financial sponsors for the march

2) Getting our committees together and going full speed. We have four committees -- the D.C. event, marketing/advertising, fundraising and transportation. We have a 3-4 people on each committee, but we need more. I want these committees to be empowered and "take the ball and run with it", so to speak.

If you are willing and able to help with either task, please let me know.

I'm sure Tom could use your help within TN as well. There are lots of great patriots there -- we just need to get the word out.

Many thanks for your support. We look forward to working with you, David.

Regards,

Terri Stocke

On Tuesday the Tax Day Tea Party announced their biggest TEA party ever will occur on April 15th, 2010 in Washington DC and all across the country.

Due to the large number of Tea Party Patriots and Nine-Twelve project members among our supporters, we are concerned that this will

result in fewer people attending the Second Amendment March on April 19th, 2010.

Your input is valuable to us. In light of this, we would like to know which of our options do you view as being most favorable?

Please use the link below to go to our poll and vote now, or use the poll on our homepage at www.SecondAmendmentMarch.com.

Second Amendment March to remain on April 19, 2010

A short while ago we learned that the TEA Party Patriots would be holding a march in Washington DC on April 15th, 2010, 4 days before our own event.

Concerned that this would affect the attendance at our own march, the Board of Directors spent a week gathering information. We were concerned that people would not be able to make two trips to DC because of time and money constraints.

However, we discovered that the TEA party will not be one HUGE event to be held in Washington DC, but rather would be held in hundreds of cities all across the country. That means that many, many people will likely spend April 15th in their home town TEA party and hence would still be able to attend the April 19th Second Amendment March.

Other deciding factors were:

* Many people had already made plans for April 19th by asking time off work and making travel arrangements.

* It became apparent that we would not be able to work out all the logistical headaches involved with changing the date.

* Some of our speakers would not be able to accommodate the change.

* Some of the State Capitol Rallies had already chosen their dates and changing the date of the DC rally would have complicated their efforts.

* Concerns over the lack of availability of lodging if both events were held simultaneously.

Many of you sent us personal emails voicing a variety of opinions and I want to assure you that we appreciate all your input.

So now, let us look to the future and the task at hand. We have a lot of money to raise and a lot of work to do if we are to make the Second Amendment March a huge success! Thanks again, and I'll see you in DC on April 19th, 2010!

All the best!

Please RSVP

We now have an RSVP form on our website that allows our supporters to let us know if they plan on attending their state march, the national march, or both.

This information will help us greatly in determining how many attendees to expect, additional resources that we may need to secure, and how many hotel rooms we should block off.

We have created the form to require only a minimal amount of informtation. However, the more information you provide to us, the better we can serve you.

Rest assured that we value your privacy, and this information will not be shared with ANYONE outside of the Second Amendment March organization or our event planning partner, One Step Promotions.

To RSVP now, please go to http://www.secondamendmentmarch.com/rsvp

A Message from the Founder

Well, folks, the Second Amendment March is now less than 100 days away, and I can feel the momentum building, swelling, growing like a live organism beneath my feet. I feel as if I've been pushing on a giant rock for the past ten months, pushing as hard as I can for all I'...m worth. Pushing when I'm... tired. Pushing when I'm sore. And pushing when I'm discouraged. But I have good news for you.

Last week I pushed and the rock moved. And not just a little, but a lot! Last week we added our first two corporate sponsors: United States Concealed Carry Association and Front Sight Firearms Institute.

I'd like all of you to consider joining United States Concealed Carry Association. They have a top-of-the-line magazine plus email tips and great articles to help you in your concealed carry journey through life.

They are a great organization with a great radio show as well.

(Armed American Radio) Check them out at U.S. Concealed Carry Association.

If you need firearms training, then you should consider taking an excellent course from Front Sight near Las Vegas, Nevada. Check out their website at OpenDNS Sight gives excellent training and you can get a great price if you purchase one of our training class certificates through the Second Amendment March online store. (http://secondamendmentmarch.americommerce.com)

I'd

also like to take a moment to thank Larry Pratt from Gun Owners of

America for all the help he's given us. (www.gunowners.org)GOA is the premier no-compromise gun rights organization in America. You can join and also help out Second Amendment March in the process by going to our online store.

So, as you can see, the rock moved last week, and next week I expect it to move even further. I'll be at the infamous SHOT show (www.shotshow.org)all next week talking to the movers and shakers of the Shooting,Hunting, and Outdoors Trade industry, trying to glean even more support for the Second Amendment March. If any of you will be there and wish to meet up for coffee, just give me a call at 269-838-5586.

God bless you all and thanks again for helping me move that giant rock!

I just wanted to add my $0.02 here.

While my schedule could change, I am planning to attend the march in Washington on April 19th and given the current administration, I can't think of a time in my lifetime (which is getting to be quite a stretch of years at this point!) when showing our support for our eroding Second Amendment rights could be more important.

I really, really, really, want to encourage you to attend if there is anyway possible...our rights to own and carry firearms is tenuous at best...please be there.

I'm hopeful that we can get a caravan together to leave from the Nashville area and perhaps have a couple of stops along the way to pick up people as we go...I'm planning on making the trip to DC on the Sunday prior to the march so if anyone wants to join up with me feel free to PM me here.

I realize that not everyone can simple go to DC for a march and I don't mean to step on any toes here but DON'T COUNT ON SOMEONE ELSE SHOWING UP FOR YOU...IF YOU VALUE YOUR FIREARMS AND YOUR RIGHTS THEN BE THERE.

We are pleased to announce that attendees of the Second Amendment March in Washington, D.C. can

reserve rooms at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA at a greatly reduced rate.

The Sheraton National is a 3.5-star hotel that normally books for $250 or more per

night. However, we have negotiated a deal that reserves a block of rooms

for only $99 per night (plus taxes and plus parking, if applicable.

Parking is $20 per night.). The Sheraton National is near the Pentagon and

Arlington National Cemetery, and is across the Potomac from the Washington

Monument. The hotel offers a free shuttle to/from Reagan National Airport

(about 5 minutes away), as well as the nearest metro station (Pentagon City).

The Sheraton National has also assured us that they are firearm friendly. All they

ask is that when you leave your firearm in your room that you lock it in the provided room safe.

Please note that the $99 per night does not include breakfast. We felt that it was more

important to offer the lowest rate possible for our attendees since many people

do not eat breakfast or may prefer to make alternate arrangements. Also

note that their on-site restaurant is rather pricey ($4.99 for juice, $15 for

breakfast buffet). Just wanted to give a heads up on that.

To make your reservation online, please go to our special site set up just for Second

Amendment March attendees: Welcome.

Act quickly, because these rooms won't last long at this rate!

Michael Bane, author and host of the show "Shooting Gallery" on the Outdoor Channel, speaks up about the Second Amendment March:

He says: "For any of you out there watching, you need to be at this event because you need to know how strong we are; that is a critical point....we are the mainstream and we need to SHOW that we're that mainstream."

My stance -

Remember: This event is an important factor in the public's perception of gun owners. Perception translates directly into votes. Votes translate directly into laws. Laws mean that your personal freedoms are either upheld or violated.

The last generation essentially rolled over and gave up our right to fully automatic weapons. Are we going to restore that right for future generations of Americans? Are we going to keep the status quo? Or are we going to continue the trend and give up semi-autos? How hard we (i.e. you and I as individuals) fight will determine the answer.

Are you planning to be at the Second Amendment March?!?

Anybody want to carpool/caravan to the national march? I really want to go, but I'm pretty broke. I might be able to swing it if I can cut some costs...

Speaker List: http://www.secondamendmentmarch.com/itinerary

Oh, and by the way, the Second Amendment March moneybomb is on April 7. I WILL be attending that for sure. We are shooting for $50,000. I will be donating 0.05% of that total. Every little bit helps!

There's a thread down in the non-stickies about the SAM in Tennessee, which will be in Nashville on a different date (to be determined).

Whether I am able to attend or not is still a bit tentative but I've made my reservations in DC at the original host hotel and I am still planning on going.

Right now, I'm planning on leaving Nashville on Saturday evening the 17th and driving straight through...I can't leave any earlier than that because I"m in the TN State Guard and our monthly drill is that Saturday.

Planning then on spending that Sunday in DC just doing some sightseeing (I love DC for that reason) then doing the march on Monday and coming back either that night or waiting until Tuesday morning to head back.

If that schedule "works" for anyone and would like to form a caravan over (whether hooking up in Nashville or joining along the way) just let me know by PM.

This just in: Dick Heller (of Heller vs. D.C. fame) will be kicking off the event!!

I REALLY want to go, but this pesky thing called school is harassing me. If I wasn't supposed to be graduating this May, I would go for sure! If I can catch up in my work enough to go, RobertNashville, I will let you know.

Online SAM moneybomb is TOMORROW!! I'm in for $25. We now have $2,154 out of our goal of $50,000.

Edited to add: Moneybomb is going on right now. I made it onto the ticker at secondamendmentmarch.com!! Haha, I know I'm dumb, but I do like seeing my name on a ticker for some reason. I'm a sucker for moneybombs. It'd be great to see some other TN folks on the ticker... :hat:
