What is the best way to ship ammo? What costs are involved?

I have some ammo I cant use and have been planning on listing it online for sale but I have never shipped it before.

What do I need to know?

OoooR.......list your ammo here in the for sale section and see who might live in your area that might be interested in it.

Hint...hint....hint!!

If any of it's 9mm or 7.62x39, I want to be first in line!!! :D

I live in your area so you wouldn't have to worry about shipping!!!!:P

Pack well with newspaper padding and bubble wrap in a sturdy box. I usually cut extra srips of cardboard to reinforce the top and bottom. I always use UPS. Also, the box must have the "ORM-D" sticker and "ammunition, small arms" on it in a prominent place. I've shipped several boxes of collectible ammo to people in my collectors group all over the U.S. with no problems.

I'm not a benefactor at TGO yet so I'm not turning this into an add. When I sell this lot I plan to help out this site and I'll have plenty of useful things for the add boards then.

I usually use UPS. Box it up well, and take it to an actual UPS center, not a UPS Store. The UPS Stores that I have talked to will not accept ammunition shipments, they tell you to take it to an actual UPS center. All they've ever asked me to do is take a marker and write ORM-D on the box somewhere.
