Saiga .308 for Hunting?

Has anyone tried using one of these for Deer hunting, I am just getting back into hunting after a 20 year layoff and I would appreciate any advice on this rifle.

I'll be using mine for deer this year. It's plenty accurate when target shooting, and I imagine it will be fine from the tree stand. Mine's got an aftermarket FCG. That made quite a bit of difference for me in accuracy.

One word of caution: if you've been using steel-cased rounds for target shooting, be sure to clean your chamber really well before switching to some nicer brass-cased hunting rounds. You can help avoid FTE's that way.

Saigas are plenty accurate for deer hunting. One thing to remember is that you can not hunt with fmj's. Don't mix up up your target rounds with your hunting rounds.
