You might be interested in taking this little quiz that matches you to the candidate of your dreams.

Of more interest to me was the page you get to click on following the results that gives candidate positions.

There is no gun issue question here but other issues are pretty well covered. I was surprised at the outcome but then again I learned a lot about the candidates positions.

Duncan Hunter, Sam Brownback and then Fred Thompson third.

Hilary, Barack and Edwards were the last three.

I don't like this one. Haha. Every other candidate quiz site I do says I should (and will) vote for Ron Paul. This one said I should vote for Giuliani. Haha, that will be a cold day in hell.

Fred ended up way down the list for me. I was surprised. Then again I was surprised about how many things we disagree on. I may have to re-think my support for Fred.

And the winner is...... Giuliani!!!!! I was actually surprised on how many things he and I agree on. Now, if I could just believe he really has turned into a pro-gun candidate.... ;)

Mine was Fred again.

But that quiz is off because the immigration choice I picked was Tom Tancredo's advertised position and that quiz said we disagree.

I was about to say...

you know, Giuliani is saying all the right things..but is he telling the truth or lying his way into the GOP nomination?

I don't accept his apology to gunowners and firmly belive that he will attempt to ban all firearms if he gets into office.

just my 2 cents

I actually ended up with Duncan Hunter at the top, Fred Thompson 3rd.

my last 3 were all dems.

Rudy may be the best we can do. Bush isn't exactly Mr. Gun Supporter and he had the support of the core Republicans.

What I expect to happen is for Hillary to run against Rudy and the "conservatives" to be so pissed off that they stay home and just don't vote. Not voting is just a vote for Hillary. You better believe that every liberal wacko and welfare recipient will try to get to the polls.

You are absolutely right, but I would not be able to vote for either of the Rudy or Hillary. If it comes down to a race between the two of them we're screwed anyway. There are more differences in the Olsen twins than there are between Rudy and Hillary. And I don't want to sit through another GOP spend fest, I expect irresponsible spending from the democrats. When the GOP does it, it blurs the line even farther on their differences.

This nation has moved so far to the left toward Socialism/Fascism/Communism that pure socialist are considered right wing. On the extreme far right you have people who respect individual rights and they have no representation in our current political system. The press keeps pushing that the left is socialist and the right is Fascist, the problem there is that they are exactly the same and came out of the socialist movement of the 1800's. This eliminates those that believe the philosophies from the enlightenment have value from the debate by excluding them from public view. I think Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Adam Smith and John Locke's idea should be praised and taught in schools but that wont happen anymore.

+1 on the flawed quiz. I was surprised that Fred was #2 and Duncan Hunter #1. The quiz said I disagreed with Thompson on Immigration - but a double check showed I did not select the wrong button. I agreed.

Other problems are the overral slant, the missing questions (Gun Control for one) and the limited and shallow possible responses.

I wound up with Hunter, Thompson in 1 & 2...

McCain the Insane for me. Like heck. I think he needs to be run out of the GOP on a rail for McCain-Feingold.

How come I've never heard of some of these guys that keep cropping up, like Duncan Hunter?

Look, we're gonna end up with Hillary, barring a miracle. Get used to it. Elect lots of GOP to the House and Senate and have 4 years of gridlock. There are lots of good candidates in the GOP but they arent ready for prime time yet. I think of Bobby Jindall for example. Four years in opposition will do wonders for the party.

Except for being anti-gun, Rudy doesn't look too bad to me. But I'm not a typical Republican. I'm not only for abortion, but retroactive abortion. Lots of people breathing my air who shouldn't be doing so. :D

Then you need your glasses checked.

Rudy is a Republican in name only. He lost to Hillary without even running, leaving the race when a scandal emerged over his dating his current girlfriend while still married to his wife.

Maybe you should try out the retroactive abortion thing and tell us how it works. Could be a blow against global warming as well. Al Gore will preach at your funeral.

I think prostate cancer might have been part of the reason for Rudy quitting the Senate race, but I'm not sure moral fiber means much any more anyway.

I've never seen abortion as a Democrat / Republican issue. To me it's more a matter of whether the government should be involved in taking a position at all on what is basically a religious issue. I don't favor abortions. I just favor the government staying out of people's private lives. It has always seemed that the Dems should be in favor of the government telling you whether you can or can't have one and the Republicans should be for individualism. But that's not how it is.

As far as anyone being a RINO, I don't think there are any Republicans left. Weren't they supposed to be the party of small government and opposition to government regulation?

The prostate cancer was just a figleaf because his polling numbers were lousy prior to his quitting.

As for abortion, I tend to agree. Unfortunately if you side with the Dums and see abortion as some kind of "right" then that right has to be guaranteed with gov't money. And that's where I have an issue.

Thompson has made a good case for limited gov't. He unfortunately doesnt have much in the way of credentials to back that up.
