What is the Friends of NRA?

Friends of NRA is an exciting grassroots fund-raising program that fosters community involvement, raises money and gives 100% of the net proceeds to qualified local, state, and national programs. Thanks to dedicated individuals across America, Friends of NRA is making a difference. Working with NRA's Field Staff, thousands of volunteers nationwide are participating in the program by organizing and planning events in their communities.

Where do the proceeds go?

All net proceeds benefit The NRA Foundation, with half allocated to fund projects within the state where the money was raised. The NRA Foundation uses the other half to fund similar projects with a national scope. Friends of NRA committee volunteers are appointed to a State Fund Committee and make recommendations for local grant funding.

Since 1990, The NRA Foundation has awarded over $125 million in grants to qualified organizations that promote the shooting sports and provide Second Amendment education. Much of that money has been raised through banquets like the one to which you are invited.

Below is the text of an email sent this afternoon by Mike Webb.

Memphis Friends,

Thanks for an all time record setting event!! Since the Memphis committee re-organized in 2002 several of us had a goal of selling out the event and having a net revenue of $50,000.00. Our goal for a sell-out was 400 in attendance with a net revenue of $50,000.00 for 2009. The event's attendance record was 350 in 2005 and the net revenue record was $49,082.00 in 2006. The 2009 Event was a complete sell-out with 425 in attendance with a net revenue of $60,955.00!!! The Memphis Event also set an all time state record for having the largest net revenue ever for any Friends of NRA Event in Tennessee as well as pushing us over the top with a $300,000.00 in net revenue for Tennessee for the first time ever! The 2008 event verses the 2009 event the attendance was up 94%, gross revenue was up 73%, and net revenue was up 104%! Thanks to all of the hard work, help, support, dedication from our great volunteers along with our outstanding donors, underwriters, sponsors, and generous attendees we were able to accomplish our goal for excellent all time record setting event!
