ak vs. saiga dimensions

curious about the saiga converted rifles...othe than the trigger being farther back etc. in its original form are there any differences, i.e, the receiver looks longer on the saiga...is it? also does the saiga except drop in parts from a traditional ak? off topic; is a warsaw pact buttstock shorter than a nato length buttstock?

Most of the parts will be the same.

If I remember correctly, the Warsaw stock is 9.25 inches, and the NATO 10.5.

The receivers are the same. They accept the normal AK parts once the transfer bar trigger is removed. Do a search for Saiga conversion, you will find most of the answers you need.

The Warsaw buttstock is about 1.25" shorter than the NATO version.

The stock Saiga looks longer than an AK because the sporting buttstock is longer, and the handguard is longer than the normal AK handguards. If you replace them as part of the conversion process, the Saiga will look a lot different. Its a sweet rifle.
