vehicle carry options

Hi. I'm a new member here and was curious what all you guys do for vehicle carry. I'm sure some carry on their person, but that's not really for me. Am curious what setup anyone else has experience with. I'm sure they all have their pros/cons. This one appeals to me most over the grassbur, fobus, desantis vehicle carry options:

Not really looking for opinions on something you haven't tried, but rather what you are currently using and if you like it or not.

Thanks.

Ever since I found a good ankle holster for my J-frame, I've been pulling my pants leg up enough that the gun is exposed while driving. That way, I don't have to dink around with whatever I'm carrying on my waist while I'm in the truck.

I just use a small plastic container that sits on the tunnell in front of console. It has typical "junk" pens, scratch pad, planner, etc. But make small nest out of t-shirt material on top. cover gun with baseball cap. easy access well within reach. I just take gun out of holster when I get in and put it back in holster when I get out. Routine traffic stop LEO ask where gun was at ? I Told him laying under hat. OK just leave it there.

Here's one that's a little more concealed and a couple of inches closer at hand.

I've seen that one but not crazy about it. I have leather seats which looks like that strap would rub them to death plus I don't want to sit on a strap. Not to mention getting in the way of my legs getting in and out. It is another option though. Thanks for sharing.

A vote for the first option. Don't know if I'd like sitting on the strap of the other. I use a clip holster similar to that but I keep it in the console of both vehicles. Always wondered about a way to secure the holster so it could be drawn easily though. I like the console because I can just lock it up and leave.

I just use a cheapo nylon holster stuck between my seats and center console

FWIW, you can get a nylon strap w/ buckle at Wally World for two bucks, and attach it to a cheap holster, and save that 50+ shipping

i use a cheap uncle mikes IWB and tuck it in-between the seat snugged next to the seat belt, if i get car jacked, it would appear natural to take off the seat belt and or grab the gun and blast off.....and if i need to get out and go into a shop it takes only a sec to slide it inside my pants in the crack of my back. cant beat the price of 7$-15$ for a duel purpose holster, but if i am not working i normally wear a black-hawk check your 6 holster, it is in the same position when sitting in the car or truck, and feels great to wear.

+1. I do the exact same thing... just transfer it to my belt holster when I get out of the truck. works for me.

I'm with truthsayer. I used a good ankle holster and a J Frame.

Before that I usually just tucked it between the seat and the console, or under the side of my leg.

If your door pockets have a lip inside you can use a Fobus paddle holster and slide the paddle in the pocket. It moves around a little, but the paddle will catch the lip and allow you to draw without the holster coming along for the ride.

For my last Silverado, I went to a gun shop, rummaged through their discount holsters in a box, found a OWB to fit my Beretta, and bolted it between the driver's seat and the armrest/console. Covered it with a ballcap until needed. They stole my truck. And my holster.

Thanks all for the replies. I am 5'11"..205. I carry various guns depending on the weather and how I dress for the day. Not one in particular. Usually a Glock 23, XD 45, or a small 380. On my person, I have the Glock and SA in a Blackhawk Serpa and the 380 in a IWB clip holster. I went ahead and got the Gum Creek vehicle mount during my search and mounted a cheap Passport nylon ambi holster to it. The mount works great in my truck and the holster is universal enough to temporarily hold any of the 3 depending on which one I'm using that day. Problem solved.
