PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS!

I know there are many of you like-minded patriots in Tennessee who are fed up, way, way up, with the Obama Administration and their "minions" in Congress, as well as various governor seats throughout the country. I listen to Rush, watch Fox News ( and only them, but I wish it wasn't that way), but I keep asking myself, "How on earth did all this happen? What can I do about this mess? How can these liberals be stopped?" I have made a decision to put my money where my mouth is.

There are several races throughout the country that the Liberal Left is watching VERY CLOSELY. They know if Democrats get voted out of these offices, that their own days are numbered. These races are:

(1)Virginia Governor Race: Attorney General Bob McDonnell (Republican) vs. Va. State Senator Creigh Deeds (Democrat)

(2)New Jersey Governor Race: Chris Christie (Republican), Incumbent Democratic Governor Jon Corzine, and Chris Daggett (Independent).

(3)Illinois Congressional Race: Incumbnent Democrat Jan Schakowsky, Republican Joel Pollak

and the ONE MAN in Congress who told the truth about Obama and called him the liar that he is,

(4)Incumbent South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson, Republican, vs. Democrat Rob Miller

I don't have a lot of money, but I am determined to make a difference, and the only way I know I can affect some of these races is to donate to the people whose views are like my own. Many of us have sat on the sidelines too long, and look what has happened. Many of us also thought that just voting was enough. It was not. There were millions of people who gave $10, $20, and this level of contribution to the Obama campaign, and he literally had more money than he could spend. Now we all know that Queen Oprah gave many millions to his campaign, but he still had millions, even without her.

I would rather be buying ammo, primers, bullets, and a lot of other things, but I know that something has to be different in these next elections for things to change. I want to encourage you folks to think about giving to the candidates who are going to keep our 2nd Amendment rights. I also know that there are quite a few of you folks who are without jobs or has a spouse out of work. You have to buy food and care for your family -- you certainly have enough to worry about. But, those of us who don't have this hardship might need to give a little on your behalf, too.

I'm actually budgeting this. I'm going to try to help, and therefore affect, a lot of campaigns throughout this nation, because these current idiots in Congress are going to be the very ones who screw up my health care and call it "reform", who put huge taxes on our energy costs (the Cap and Trade bill), and then when they're feeling completely indomitable, will try to either take my guns away, put huge taxes on ammo, or do both.

They have to be stopped. You can help. Do some research, pick a candidate, if you can, pick several, and give to their campaign(s). As soon as Joe Wilson's website was up and running (it bombed the night he called Obama a iiar), I donated to his campaign, and I tell you, IT FELT GOOD!

Help your country! Put your money where your mouth is. :D

I really don't see a great lot of difference from the last Administration, or the ones before for that matter. I was way more than frustrated a long time ago. You're absolutely right though that people need to get and stay active. But, we're not gonna fix it from the top, it has to start at the local level. People need to forget about the R & D nonsense and get behind the people who will do the job they were sent to do for two terms and done.

I totally understand the frustration, and you are right about local level politics -- I've just started that, too, by recently speaking before our Knox County Commission who tried to pass a mandate AGAINST being able to carry your gun in Knox County parks after our State made it legal. I've never spoken before an elected body before, but I wanted to voice my support for those of us who legally carry. However, it WILL be the national reps who will try to void our 2nd Amendment rights, as well as take away our right to health care privacy and MORE (and granted, much has already been taken away). I don't support apathy at any political level. We DO need to get rid of some of these lifelong politicians who do nothing but build their own power structures. One of them, Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader, is also coming up for election in Nevada, and he's one of the worst power-mongers who REALLY needs to go. Most of us have stayed on the sidelines too long, and now we have socialists and communist sympathizers in the White House, Cabinet, and Congress to show for it.

I was listening to HHH show on talk radio here in Knoxville and he was saying that there has been very little turnout and no hard questions being asked of those running for commission seats in our area. I thought that was strange after all the crap that has been going on in local politics.

That is because most of the locals as you see.. don't care or want to be involved.. it is too much effort..

And this SAME apathy at the LOCAL level transcend's to the NATIONAL level !!!!!

Anything is a help although when BO can go to a Fundraiser with of all groups Wall Street and get 15,200 per seat or a mere 30K per couple you have a lotta gun stuff to give up. BO screws Wall Street by day and they reward him at night.;)

I like so many others are so frustrated with everything. What can the "little people" do? I feel like the walls are creeping in and unless I do something I'll be crushed. But I don't know what to do except research, write letters, make phone calls, and watch. The calls and letters to congressman and senators are almost a waste of time. Canned ya ya yah blah blah blah :death: coming from thier mouth.

I have donated to the GOP and other organizations. It's a drop in the bucket comapared to what they need and they usually want you to start with a 1k donation. I just keep rolling along and preparing for what I know is coming like it or not.

Karl, I, too, have written letters, emails, made phone calls, etc, and I feel frustrated like you. I also gave money to GOP, but even though I may be wrong, I feel like it was a waste. I believe there is a better way to target the money, and that is to select a few races you're interested in and then give money directly to the candidate you want to win. REMEMBER: EVERY SINGLE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES INCUMBENT COMES UP FOR RE-ELECTION IN 2010! Try getting info from political handicapper, Charlie Cook:

The Cook Political Report | The insider's choice for election analysis

This site shows you state-by-state projection of Repub/Demos winning races. There is also more specific info you can get on this site. It's a good place to start to find out who you want to support.

I would NEVER give $1K to any one candidate at this time. Many of them ask for $20,$25,$35 -- you know, this level of giving. I have picked a few races to focus on, and it DOES make me feel better. I am determined to support and promote those conservative candidates who will boot these socialists out of office. Every "little person" can make a difference, and that includes ME AND YOU.

Check out the Cook website and tell me what you think about it -- Keep your chin up! I noticed you're from NH: the state motto: "Live Free or Die!"

TNVOLFAN, Thanks for that web site. I have bookmarked it and am passing it along to all my friends. I see your point in the key races. I try to stay sane but it's sad to see what's happening to our country. There is so much corruption and special interest going on it's pitiful. I can go off on a political tangent but this probably isn't the place.

You know.. that is part of the problem.. We are suppressed or oppressed into conducting rules of "PC" when actually we need to speak what ppl need to hear.. and not what we might think that they want to hear.

Start a blog and PM people who respond to the thread. Make a youtube video.

Not a bad idea. I think unless your blog creates an impact nationally and is picked up and quoted by the press corp or tv and news papers it's just venting between us. You Tube video may be a good idea if the right content can be covered. If the video is worth it then pass it along through blogs and that may be a better avenue for exposure. Will I have beyond Thursday to get it done? (Bad joke referencing new "Internet Equality" and FCC on Thursday). I think more effective means or transporting messages is mass rallys like Tea Party 9-12. Once a year is not enough though. Every member of Congress has local offices that could be hammered with peaceful protests. Shrug I do agree with others here and state that local and state politics figure in also.

I look at the two people who tried to take down Acorn. They just wanted to help make a difference and it turned out big. (If you don't know this the "defunded" Acorn's cash faucet turns back on the 31st of this month. Can't even get a politician to carry out a good fraud investigation!)

+1 I'm Fed up with Both parties. Republicans Preach about small government yet they vote for bailouts and corporate welfare while Democrats do the same. I encourage people to check out the third option. WWW.Campaignforliberty.COM, WWW.LP.ORG, http://www.scott4mayor.comhttp://www.ladner4ussenate.com
