Gun and Knife Show - Oct 24-25?

I was at a meat and 3 here in Franklin today and saw a stack of flyers for a Gun Show. It reads:

Gun and Knife Show

Murfreesboro National Guard Armory

2350 Armory Dr "I-24 exit 78"

October 24-25, 2009

Can anyone confirm this? I know there's an Amory Dr off I-65 in Nashville and a National Guard installment there, but that exit is Exit 79.

When I google this address and put Mboro as the city, it places the flag in a random spot just off the Hwy 96 exit on I-24. I assume that's where it's supposed to be, but just caught me off guard. Didn't think there were any other gun shows in town...

I'm getting a red X; what are you trying to post?

That's a good location Hatmaker. If you're coming from Franklin, turn left on Thompson Ln (1st intersection after you drive over 24). There will be an immediate left (Armory Dr.) that will take you a couple of years to navigate, so instead go up to the next light and hand a u-turn in the YMCA parking lot. The armory is about half a mile up on the right.

Although this is completely new information on there being a gun show there. I must check this out.

Hmmm...great american gunshow...isn't that who did lebanon and sparta? Those were both awful, you guys let me know how it is, if its the same people they have enough of my money.

It's not the same. The events you're referring to were the RKO gunshows - and yes, they WERE awful. I went to two completely different shows on different dates and they had the same guns (literally), same booths, same vendors.

Well, in that case, I'll likely check it out!

I have to disagree. Perhaps you're thinking of Smyrna instead of Sparta. The Sparta show this summer was the Great American Gun & Knife shows. They also did one in Lebanon on 9/12 & 9/13.

The one in Sparta wasn't very good. I didn't bother going to the one in Lebanon but previous posts said it wasn't any better. I agree with coldblackwind, they don't need any more of my money either.

Just out of curiosity, what made these shows so "bad"? Prices, selection, vendors, etc?

Yep.

Almost no ammo. 1 vendor did have ammo, WWB 9mm for $25/box. Lots of shotguns but no ammo. Handguns on the high end of retail prices. Badly laid out traffic patterns. Several tables with only 3 or 4 items on them (businesses, not individuals).

Contrary to other reports, I'm pretty sure that this IS the same show as the one in Lebanon recently. And yes it was horrible out there.

Nope, sorry but you're wrong. It's the same WXW group that puts on the Lebanon show.

I'm on baby (8mo old) duty this weekend cause the wife has to work. I'm not sitting at the house all day. They can stab me in the spleen when I walk in the door, it's better than the alternative. I'll be there. :tinfoil:

Its is them? Then I return to my original plan, I will NOT be there! I'd kind of like to enjoy my weekend.

Anyone have a report on today's showing?

Small show with most of the regular vendors of the area. But, I did pick up a few things. I expected to leave empty handed but did find a few things:

a box of 1943 M2 Ball.30 - for my M1 Garand collector stuff.

A USGI MRT 12-86 leather sling ( for a M40A1 build) kinda rare.

and a few other things. The sling was the score for me as I am working on a M40A1 build.
