I legally carried into Lenny's last night, the one out here that I mentioned and epaking, Spotswood, by the Target on Estate and Southern. I looked at every pane of glass on the store front. Can't smoke in there, but nothing about guns. They are independently owned franchises', might be a individual decision on the one that posted.

Me, my wife, and 4 kids went. We spent $30 and we had an entertainment book buy one get one coupon. We spend quite a bit of money at Lenny's.

I can't tell you how many times I've carried legally in Lenny's prior to this as well. The problem sort of "fixed" itself though when all of the Lenny's locations in my part of Middle TN went out of business though.

Now we just go to Jersey Mike's. As far as I know, they don't post.

FYI: There's still a Lenny's in Smyrna, and they still suck.

As I mentioned, their chicken salad sub's are good, very good. The rest is just processed lunch meat. Jersey Mike's has outstanding Roast Beef, fresh cooked hunk of meat every morning. Meat is not and should not be oval.

Really? Where? The one by Kroger went out of business the last I heard.

I think you heard wrong. I was next door two weekends ago to ship a package, and the place looked open to me. I don't like the place, so I gotta admit that I didn't look too close and could be wrong.

EDIT: I stand corrected. I just checked with my wife who works in the area, and she said that Lenny's in Smyrna is closed. She said what I saw was activity near their door. So much for my situational awareness.

Dude, seriously... if that building had been a gangsta, you wouldn't even be reading this right now. THAT is how close you came. ;)

UPDATE:

I know TN_MIKE and he has updated more in anothter forum.

He did get in touch with the owner of the franchise and they have removed the sign! She said she put it up because a "friend" told her she should.

Win one for the 2A side!!!!

Interestingly enough, I noticed that someone with a Lenny's corporate email address registered today. So they are aware of your discontent with this decision to post. Now that you have their attention, maybe they will give some sort of reply. :)

Thanks Lenny's :dunno:

Someone through the LEO card scenario out there. It just means we can't be prosecuted, they still have the right to post a sign and tell us(and we must) leave. So that may be something else to address and as far as I know a unlicensed carrying person can't be prosecuted only HCP holders. They would be just charged with intent to go armed. I dont care as I always conceal anyway.

Statute seems pretty clear that it applies to everyone in first sentence. HCP holders are then mentioned specifically to make it clear it applies to them also.

OS, Im saying it specifically applies to them and a normal thug's charge isn't as severe. They would be charged Intent to go armed and more than likely not prosecuted.

Yep....at first I thought it was only HCP holders as well, but it reading it closer, it does seem to apply to all. Although not sure it a non-HCP holder would be charged with both 1307 and 1359 or not.

Also....from reading this....it doesn't have to apply to just handguns. A owner could prohibit all weapons, or just knives or clubs etc....

Could be charged with both unlawful carry and carrying past a sign. Separate statutes, guilty of both. Maybe ineligible to own a firearm, a third charge. Etc.

Well, with current enforcement seems 1359 is unlikely period, since we still have not one documented case of conviction for it (or even anyone charged with).
