Are you an actual gimp with a decal and didn't use it, or are you a "gimp" in one of my spaces?

Did you flag down the officer and notify him about your HCP?

Naa...the little old lady at the back door of Wally World said it was one of those meter maid type cops.

I'm sure this won't make you feel better, and I'm sorry, but I ALWAYS see buttholes parking in the disabled parking spaces who not only run out of the car like a triathlon, but they don't have a placard.

What a bunch of bull crap. I'm almost positive you were the only one that was supposed to be there, and you were the only one that got cited.

Part of the problem in Tennessee is that the fine for parking in a disabled stall is a joke. $50 bucks? It's almost worth it to some people.

In California, I used to make these peoples lives miserable. Fines were $800 to $1000 AND your car got towed. Even better was when somebody would use their dead grandmas placard. Oh my goodness, that always made me happy. All kinds of trouble for doing that.

I always wondered why the state or cities don't increase the penalties for this. At least in my area it's an obvious problem.

You're right. "Damn blind *****" I got a $100 ticket because I forgot to put it on the mirror. $100 is the max on the minor violations form and my brother-in-law attorney got it thrown out. I would have gone downtown and fought it, which they say isn't hard if you show the hanger. I leave it on the mirror now. "Damn blind *****" must have a burr all the way up it.

Another time, I was at Home Depot returning to my truck when a cop pulled up and said he needed to see my decal. I said I propped it on my dashboard because my truck has lots of accessory wires on both sides of the mount and I didn't want to risk pulling the cords out. He angrily said I needed to figure it out. So I leave it up, and now I expect I'll get a violation for leaving it up while I drive.

What's the source of your gimpiness? Mine is MS.

Roll your ass down to City Hall and show them the ticket, show them the ticket, point to yourself and ask "W T F?"

Couldn't have said it better myself...I was thinking the same thing reading all the posts, and then I saw yours Dave..Nice!!!

I have no problem with individuals such as yourself, who actually need/can use a little accommodation to make things a bit easier. It really ticks me off though when it seems like every Tom, Dick, and Harry has a placard or thinks they need one.

It seems like I pull into a parking lot anymore and there with be 30 handicap spots, 10 expectant mother parking spots, 5 police only parking spots, and two grouchy bastard parking spots.

My Grandfather has had a prosthetic leg for 30 years and is in his 70's and is just now considering getting a hanger. I see a lot of people cruising around Wally World with hangers that I can't figure out a reason in the world they can't walk the extra 50ft.

Aside from my slightly unusual gait, what bothers me more is sudden changes in temperature. So I'll go into the store looking fine, and after lots of walking or leaving an air conditioned building to a hot, paved parking lot, you'll think I was a little drunk. Some people's conditions are invisible at a glance.

I just wonder,I've got mine cut up on the part that wraps around the mirror (to clear OnStar, and light wires) so wonder if thats why I got the ticket.

Motorcycle wreck 4 years ago.Broke back at T10.

Im one of the "lucky" ones I guess.

I've seen guys at high levels that couldn't wipe their own ass, much less anything else.

Me,I gots super human sensation to just below the waist from my injury, just my nerves won't communicate with enough force to walk.

Couldn't have said it better myself...I was thinking the same thing reading all the posts, and then I saw yours Dave..Nice!!!

Oui,planning on it!

I certainly understand there are people that have conditions that aren't readily apparent. It just sure seems there is either a lot of abuse of the system or the need is soaring.

For me its not really a "convenience" as I can get in and out of the store quicker then anybody legging it.Its just I need a little extra room at my drivers door.

One thing I do get a kick out of though.

I don't look anything like the folks you would expect using those spaces.Young guy, driving a SUV,no HC tags,etc...and I get plenty of harsh looks as Im pulling in a space until they see me

getting out....kinda like this

I've noticed a lot of people with what appear to be self-inflicted maladies, also. Old people with oxygen tanks and a cigarette hanging off their face... can't breathe good enough to walk [gasp] far because of this damn [gasp] emphysema.

Fat people who can [wheeze] barely make it to the [wheeze] Fat People Scooters inside the [wheeze] doorway.

That sort of thing.

I don't understand why people don't get handicap tags from the County Clerk instead of placards.

They told me tags were not available, only placards. I don't believe them, but I had to leave quickly and $2 wasn't too bad.

90% of the time, my wife transports our son in a full-size Chevy van complete with a wheelchair lift.

The other 10%, I'm filling in when she can't be there or when she's out of town. In those instances, if I remember to do it, I'll snag the placard out of the van and stick it in my Hyundai Elantra.

At any rate, that's one of the reasons why some folks get placards instead of plates.

So, are you going to have to pay court costs just to get this thing dismissed?

ETA: I'd take a few pictures of how/where your tag is hung to show to the judge.

I like personalized tags,so a placard is what I use :P

Dun no!

Surely not...if I have to go to court,I'll just pay the ****ing 50 bucks.

Court is a bitch down here there's so many people

You should roll into the meter maid station and hand them the ticket and see what can be done before you spend a lot of time in court, where it will be thrown out, at no costs...or it should be. I mean come on. You should not have to pay squat. I would try it before court. I have heard "once it is written, it is written"..
