I am not sure of just how bad the trigger pull is on the Smith and Wesson, but when I was shopping for a new carry gun I was told that you don't want the .40 because the trigger pull is to hard. I guess that he was serious because he knew that he was losing a sale that day.

I never tried it for myself, but something to think about.

I have a pretty heavy trigger in the Sigma, I am used to it, and actually like it, I feel like I have more control. I have held and shot both the Taurus and the M&P in 9 and 40...hence the addiction..I will probably stick to the 9mm though, just because I have the ammo, and I have more contol of the kick.

:)

I can recall the first time I went out with my gun after getting the permit. I was a bit nervous. I felt like everyone "knew" that I was carrying. Now the only time I have any worries is when my cover garment pulls up a little in a place that is "iffy" for carrying. Like the zoo with its incorrect signage.

Congratulations you two. It would seem that the state probably prints permits up on the 15th of the month. If you were to get the paper work in on the first you might be lucky enough to make it in to that round. Otherwise you will be waiting until the next months printing. I could be wrong though.

yeah, even with the issues I had, I got it faily quick I had all paperwork in on Oct 1st...then the record issue, and Over, his wife and I got em on the same day...so it does look that way (15th)

I am carrying everywhere...the wife loves it cause I volunteer to do all of the shopping, and her truck is full of gas...I ran out of things to do!!!

Well you do know that everyone stares at you right...

You're absolutely right.

I went out tonight, bought a new belt, got a holster and did a little "shopping". I went to McKay's books and Books-a-Million and EVERYONE knew I had a gun on me...I swear.

It's like a reverse version on that scene in Get Shorty where the guy is in the airport and he thinks everyone has a gun bulge.

Seriously though, I think my XD9 service model might be a little bulky for carry. At least that could be my excuse to get another gun.

Come on over, there's plenty to keep you busy here. :)

Congrats all on your new shiny cards!!! I am still waiting on mine to come. I went away for a couple days and when I got back I was frantically digging through the mail but to no avail. It has only been 24 days though. I will just keep :)

So I remembered a couple pages back that someone said to call the TN department of safety to check on the status of your permit. So today I called them. It has been 24 days so far. They said they haven't recieved all my information yet. I turned everything in over three weeks ago and I told her that. She said it ususally takes about that long for the info to get into their computers. Now, call me impatient, but I have a really hard time seeing how it would take some info on a computer to transfer to another computer any longer than a split second. I have worked with computers for years and I know all about how fast info travels these days. Even my fingerprints were done digitally. Leave it to the government to somehow slow down something that would normally run so fast.

So anyway, the wait continues... :koolaid:

Thanks, Molon. Now I just have to convince the wife I need a new gun for carry. Christmas is right around the corner.

just put it on and stand in front of the mirror and ask her if

your gun makes you look fat.

When I got my permit (many moons ago) I felt like Goldilocks

and the three bears. This pistol was too heavy, this one was too small,

this holster printed too much, LOL!!

Really changed the way I looked at guns when I was looking fo ra new carry weapon.

Congrats on the permits guys.

My wife sent hers in 9/15/07 still waiting , she called and they are still processing it. Mine took 27 days.

Uh-oh....

overthemountain, you ain't trying to get yourself shot, I hope...?

Dangerous to speak of a woman's size...... bought the T-shirt, hell, I got the tattoo!!

I do recommend bumping up on her and saying: "Why yes, I AM happy to see you."

That might make her happy (YMMV) and she may give her blessings to procure a new toy.

Oh, yeah,,,,, congrats on the permit!

:slapfight:

I have to agree with ya on the point as long as you feel more in control of the handgun.

I know that when I got my .45 millennium Pro, my neighbor laughed at me because of the lengthy trigger pull. He told me that I would never be able to double tap with it.

I kept my mouth shut and went shooting the next day. And am glad to say taht I believe that if need be, I can pull the trigger repetatively as fast as need be.

I like the long trigger pull because it gives you that much longer to change your mind and possibly save someones life.

Good luck with whatever ya choose.:surrender:
