Ok so you made me look:(

I took the class Sept.29

Printed on Nov.1

Mug shot Nov. 2

Why wait so long? If you had done it promptly there is a good chance it would have come already.

its funny though...I am not as anxious as before :)

I feel you. I had kind of gotten over it while my situation was resolving itself, but it felt good when TDOS sent me a letter saying my permit was valid.

Hope you get it soon man.

I took my class on Sept 29th

mugshot, printed on Oct 1st.

as I stated, I would have had it by now if it wasnt for the haunting past...still I am hoping for next week sometime...

overall it is a GREAT lesson for my kids about how EVERYTHING you do, will follow you...my daughters now understand the importance of being good. :)

Sorry I have been sick and I just got confused. Wait I can't wait. My wife told me the class was listed in the paper at 5:05pm they closed at five but I tried anyway. The next day I went in person to pay the fee as soon as they opened I was outside waiting.

I know it's silly, but I applied for mine 16 days ago and I still find myself everyday checking the mailbox like it's Christmas. :(

been there done that already, that anticipation got shot down when they found something 10yrs old on my record, I sent them the paperwork they asked for and now again....I wait...

I know what you are saying though, just be careful about who is watching you skip to the mailbox then walk away with your head down...the neighbors are likely to think you are losing your mind!! :stare:

So I was checking my mailbox today (day 17) and the mail hadn't come when it normally would. I thought well, the mail person must just be running late today. So I check it again later...still no mail. I was like what the hell man!!! So I go out and take care of some stuff and I come back later this evening and I run to the mailbox...nothing. I look at my neighbor's mailboxes and some flags are still up. So I go into the house dejected feeling...then I realize...OMG!!!...It's Veteran's Day!!!

What makes this so funny to me is i'm a veteran and I didn't even realize it.

Happy Veterans Day to all you vets by the way!!!

And then yesterday being a "two days worth of mail" day, I thought...welllll, maybe.

Went to the box and there were several thick envelopes. Hopes were high. But no...week 5 and nothing.

Thanks Regions Bank for sending my wife and I two packages explaining that you're merging with AmSouth and destroying my brief flash of joy in thinking that the carry permits had arrived.

Just to add a little more suspense to the wait. When I got mine int the mail. IT was a regular envelope and very thin. At first it felt like their wasn't anything in it. I was getting ticked until I opened it and it fell out. LOL

I would strongly suggest calling the department of safety handgun permit division to check on the status. I just got mine a couple weeks ago. After waiting for 80 days I called them and they said "Oh the computer did not issue it so we will issue it today and you will receive it in 7-14 days (which I got it in 10)" I asked i it would have ever issued if I had not called and she said probably not. So, I believe it is worth the call.

It's amazing that there is such a variation in the speed of issuing permits... some folks get them in 3 weeks, others take 3 and 4 times longer. I sometimes wonder if they don't process permit applications but every 3 months, and it's just the luck of the draw whether yours gets to them near their next 'run'.

OK, I called to check status...they issued the permit to the office that makes them on the 6th, it takes 7-10 business days, but the holiday throws them off...so it wont be long now!!!! ***does a little dance***:) that is cool, that means they accepted my court docs and I should be getting it any day now.........hopefully this week
