did mine last monday...I know it takes 90 days, yet I still run to the mailbox like a kid

Actually it's been closer to 30 days for the most part. Most everyone I talk to has been getting theirs back quick (well quick for gov. work). I know they have 90 days but I hope they come in long before that date, we need all we can get carrying.

Some things I found interesting this morning at the DMV...

First, it was a less used DMV in Chattanooga, so we were right in with only 2 people ahead of it. Secondly, as we were doing the paperwork and having our picture taken, the three guys working there seemed very very happy with what they were doing...the working on carry stuff. They were joking around and asking about what we planned on carrying and where we took our class and how cool it was that we were doing this as a family, etc. I was pleasantly surprised.

see now your just teasing me...lol....some dude at the range was bragging on a 2 week turnaround... my luck, I will get it on the 90th day, and it sux too cause my gun was telling me how bad it wants to go outside for a walk...LMAO

The guy that taught our class (Chattanooga SWAT officer) said that he got calls from a guy in a previous class griping and yelling at him around day 40 that he hadn't gotten his yet. At least wo very obvious things wrong there...1) it had only been 40 days and 2) the teacher doesn't have a whole heck of a lot to do with him getting his permit once the class is over. Odd and strange.

I received my TN Handgun Carry Permit within a month of filling out the renewal form (i have an Arkansas CHL) at the driver license station on Summer in Memphis. I was very pleased with how fast i received my permit in the mail and how simple the process was.

I used the one on Summer as well...lets hope I get mine that quick!!! my poor gun wants to ride in the front seat to the range, riding unloaded in the trunk in the box and triggerlock make him unhappy...lol...

3.5 years ago, mine took 45 days. Don't worry it will come, don't bother them, they put you to the bottom of the list that way.

LOL....time to renew huh????

hehe i remember that. it started about two or three days after i fingerprinted. run to the box with such high expectations and walk away with lip dragging the ground. mine took about 5 wks.

waiting for the permit is like watching water waiting for it to boil. Best to just put it out of your mind and then be suprised when it comes.

I had figured mine was not coming, due to other circumstances, and with it completely out of my mind it was in the mailbox one day. Took 31 days if I remember correctly.

Took them another 6 weeks to tell me there were some issues. Then less than ten days to verify validity once my situation was cleared up.

and yes...I am kidding...lol, weird though..33 yrs, never thought twice about not having one..and now I cant get it fast enough... then once I get it, I am going to have to leave the gun home while I go to work...but the wife will be happy about me volunteering to run all of the errands when I get home

This house is protected by a Smith & Wesson three nights a week....You guess which three!

Where is it the other 4 nights? What protects you those nights?

thats the mystery of it all.....you wont know which night you get S&W, or ??? ;)

It took 6 weeks for mine. Lo and behold I got my permit and my new credit card in the same day. Now being a gun owner and having a new carry permit and a fresh credit card can you guess what i did? Ahh debt....

be glad the hamilton county sheriff of several years ago aint got anything to do with it. took my son and i 8 months.

heh.

Mike you're asking the OBVIOUS question..the better question to ask is "what does his wife shoot?

she could be like Julie.

Canyon, I shoot primarily 9mm. my wife carries a .45 with a 10 round magazine. If you come to our house to do harm, you'd better HOPE that I catch you. you might make it to the hospital..if SHE catches you..they won't even know you're missing!

I got mine back in 26 days. Honest I wasn't counting. LOL

I was surprised though because I have lived in four different states. THought that would make it take longer.
